EDWARDS BENEVOLENT FUND REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR YEAR ENDED 30 N VEMBER 202 Objectiv8s and Actlvltles The purpose ol the Trust is to pay the annual income from the Trust Assets equally between the Parishes of Newhills, Dyce and Sken8 for distribution lo the elderly, young and needy throughoul the Parishes at the discretion of the respective Kirk Session. The objective of the Trust is to relain the capital to generate a good level of income from which the grants can bè paid whilst protecting the capital for future growth. The majority ol the capital is invested in the stock market and is managed by Rathbonès Investment Manag9rn8nt in Glasgow. Financial Revlew The Trust made èqual payments to the Parishes ol Newhills, Dyce and Skene totalling £33,000. The Trust aims lo ensure thal there is sufficient revenue funds to pay grants, which are paid in December and June, and also torihcoming capital and income expenses. Al 30 November 2025 there was a closing cash balance of £28,016 01 which £10,253 was held in the Trust's Expendable endowm8nl fund and £17,763 was Unrestricted. Structure, Govornance and Management The Trust was founded by Trust Disposition and Selllement and Codicils respectively dated 21 August 1854, 21 March 1860 and 11 February 1861 granted by Alexander Edwards and as amended by the Edwards, Trust Order 1881 and 1934. Trustee Recrultment and appolntmenl The Trustees shall be as slated in the Trust Deed th8 present ministers of Newhills, Dyce and Skene, the Sècretary of the Aberde8n University and Lord Provost of Aberdeen. A factor shall be appointed by the Trustees. The present factor is Forbes MacLennan of James & George Collie. Statement of trustees, re8ponsibilltle8 The Trustees ar& responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and thè financial statements in accordance with applicable law and Uniled Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdorn Generally Accepted Accounting Pra¢lic81. The law applicable to charities in Scotland requi5 the trustees to prepare financial statemènts lor each linancial year which give a true and fair view ol the stale ol affairs ol thè Charity and of the incoming resources and application ol resources ol the charily lor that period. In preparing these financial slatèmenls, the Iruslees are required lo.. select suitable accounting policles and then apply Ih8m consistently., observe the rnethods and principles in the Charities SORP., make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; slate whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements., prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate lo presume that the charity will continue in operation. The Iruslees are responsible for keeping accounting records that disclose wilh reasonable accuracy at any lime the financial position ol the chariiy and ènable them lo ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities and Trustee InvgStm8nt {Scotlandl Act 2005, Ihe Charities Account5 {Scotlandl Regulations 2006 (as amended) and the provisions ol the charity's constitution. They are also responsible lor safeguarding the assets ol the charity and hence lor laking reasonable steps lor the prevention and detection ol fraud and other irregularities.

EDWARDS BENEVOLENT FUND INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 November 2025 which are set out on pages 4t06. Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examlner The charity's trustees are responsible lor the preparation ol the accounts in accordance wilh the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscoilandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 las amendedl. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirern8nt ol Regulation 10{11 lal to Icl of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my resF)onsibilily to examine the accounts as required under sèction 44111 {cl of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come lo rny attention. Basls of Independent examlner's st8lement My exarninalion is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review ol Ihg accounting r8cords kept by the charity and a comparison ol the accounts presgnled with those records. It also include5 consideration ol any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on Ihe view given by the accounts.
