Preservation and sharing of Traditional Shetland Fiddle tunes and playing style, through weekly practices where new tunes are introduced to add to the already substantial repertoire. Additionally, organising and hosting public events that showcase the Shetland Fiddle Music traditions as well as performing to varying audiences at several concerts annually and participating in the newly established Shetland Fiddle Week.

Objectives: (a) To assist in the preservation, stimulation and presentation for the benefit, education and enjoyment of the public of the art of traditional Shetland fiddle playing (b) To give concerts, recitals and other public appearances of Shetland fiddle music for the benefit, education and enjoyment of the public (c) To make recordings or broadcasts of Shetland fiddle music for the benefit, education and enjoyment of the public (d) To educate musicians in the art of traditional Shetland fiddle playing (e) To provide opportunitites for enjoyment and social intercourse among members and others (f) To collect, preserve and publish manuscripts and recordings of Shetland fiddle music for the benefit, education and enjoyment of the public and for these purposes to establish, maintain and develop a library or other premises for the storage, display and lending to the public of such manuscripts and recordings (g) To co-operate with the Local Authority, voluntary organisations and inhabitants of Shetland in the furtherance of the above objects or any of them.
