The objectives of the society are to maintain the purity of the cattle breed known as the Ayrshires and to foster, promote and improve the breeding of Ayrshire cattle in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This is done by way of collecting, verifying and registering the pedigrees of the said cattle and other useful information relating to them whilst maintaining standards of production and conformity. There are also, exhibitions, shows and events attended and organised together with the production and distribution of a periodic journal.
