Our purposes as recorded in our constitution are to promde prevschool education for the thildren in the surrounding area. As a community nursery our goal is to prowde our children with a safe beneficial environment to learn and devdop. both academically as well as soaally. That goal is achieved by the dedicated support of the staff as well as the involvement of parents and volunteers. Our primary objective is that the children have a positive experience within the nursery and move on to pl as best prepared as possible. I V￿uld like to offer my warrn welcome to everyone here. I will briefly give an overview of the last year at the nursery and then handover to for their reports. The nurserfs capacity is 24 children. We have stsrted in a much stronger position than last year with 18 children currently attending the nursery which is up from 12 èt this time last year. Last year bGt;, '.eftthe nursery. This gives you an idea of the length of time she had been involved which vrds in excess of 15 years. She is still involved In . ,-I,'ground as she runs the nurserfs payroll. The Board made the decision not to recruit for role and have instead divided her dutie5 betwe- d the Board. I would like to say . k￿QU for all of her involvernent wth the nursery over the years. in particular her recent assistance in the preparations for the inspection. The nursery and parents are fortunate to have such a team of people who bring unique experience and talent to the nursery. like Spanish and French lessons and gardening amongst others. I would now like to finish with some v￿rdS of thanks. Firstly, thank you to the Business Committee of Mayfield Salisbury Churth who are always in support of the nursery. secondly, I would like to thank the Board members. Everyone has gone above and beyond over the last year to asslst in the various Board matters. I was delighted to be part of the Board with you 3nd could not have done it without all of your help and support. In parkncular, I would like to thank who has vast experience working in childcare and has expertly guided us throughout the year. as we said on many occasions. we couldn't have done it without you. Thirdly, a huge thank you to our new manager has hit theground running in a brand-new setting has not only 8Ot to know the children. their families, the staff and the Board she has also had a nursery inspertion in her first 3 rnonths. She has done a fantastic job and we are delighted to have her on board. Fourthly. another huge thank you to all of the wonderful staff members fGr their hard work and dedication which was cleady Teflected in the wonderful report whic ill go into in more detail later on. Collectively. they have been dedicated and worked with commitment, energy and enthusiasm throughout the year. Finally to all of the parents. thank you for your involvement and contribution to Newington Nursery. The Newingt￿ Nursery Trustses are appointed by the members at the Annual General Meeting. which tskes place at the stsrt of Autymn each year.
