S¢ssion Report Session has met in April. June. AugusL SeptembeT. November, January and March. We Continue with no-one &8 Session Clerk but with the duties spread among the team- Mrs Ann Munro looking after Comrnunion arrangemen Mr Denham Kirkpatri¢k keeping the minutes of our meetings and Dr Jvy Barclay seeing to pulpit supply and other duties. Help with Pulpit Supply bas given by Miss Barbara Graham. On two Sundays the worship was led by memlws of the congwation at short notice due to home Circumstances of Dr Ivy Barclay. Piano/ organ playing has bcen provided by Mr Denham Kirkpatrick, Mrs Margaret Wright, Mr David Kery and Mr Eric Oliplwit. Our tbanks to them all. As the church w&s closed on the second Sunday of June due to the 'Roon the Toon, road race, those who wished were invited to ' Coffee and Praise, at Wilson Ave, Tr(M)n. This will be repeated this year. On 15 June the congregation enjoyed a fellowship mea] in the large hall afteT the morning service. We wer¢ glad to welcome the Fellowship of Kilmarnock Churches to Winton Plar£ on 22. June. The service w&s led by Barbara Graham and worship enhanced by a group of singers from Aspir Centreslage well as the Salvation Amiy band. As usual gifL8 were given at Harvesl Thanks giving, wkn'ch weTC passed to the Community FuDd of the Kilmarnock branch of the Salvation Arn)y. lThe Collection was sent to TearFund for the Afghanistan earthquake Appeal. Donations were also given to Erskine Hospital on Remembrance Sunday and EACHA on c1151Ma5 Eve. This year's Christm&8 Shoe Box apF¢a] for Blythswood Care was well supp)rted by Rainbows, Brownies and Guides as well as the congregation. 107 boxes and £103 were given. 'rhe Trailblazers group for children between 4 and I I slarted with Messy Church on Saturday 23 August. This w&s SUPFK)rted by Congr¢gational Federation President Mrs Caroline Stott and her book 'Belinda Bee,. The group met cach month .The Kilmarnock Churches C1)ristm Trail for school age children around the towi) centre churches was again well attended. Working with Disclosure Scotland all church Trustees now have a PVC7 certificate. The Congregational Federation produced a Bible course called All for jes8, Jesus for all, Bible Study. Rev Ivy Barclay took part in a pilot scheme by zoom over the summer. We us¢d this &8 our them¢ for the Lent Bible Study . Winton Place was to be host for the COnrgatiOnal Federation Scottish Area Assembly in June 2026 but due lo a change of date to 13 June we withdrew and the Assembly will now be held at Knightswood Congregational Church. Session's thanks are expressed to all who help with church work in a variety of ways throughout the year. It was with sadness that session, rep)rts the death of Mr E Wilson in Aug. The Congregational Federation in Scotland meets as an knca Council in September, November and February. We are usually represented by Ivy Bar¢lay. The Area also holds an Assembly in June and a Conference in October. These are hosted by different churches each year. Last year the assembly Wds in Dundee and the Conference, at Coatdyke. Airdrie. We attended meetings by zoom.
Managersrrrnste¢$ Report 2025r26 Rev Dr Barclay has continued as Acting President chaiTing the Managers meetings. The managers met in the normal cycle through to FebTuary 2026 but then cb2nged to only meeting every two months with our lasi meeting having been in April. The manag¢rs would likc to place on record the sincere thanks of the congregation to Jean Duncan for her years of service as treasu. Jean h&8 finally been able lo fully pass on the b&on after a few years of trying. She'll be a hard act to follow. We also need to thank Rev Dr Ivy Barclay who h&8 kept this in good order when Jean w&8 unfit ts do so. Several nll)ni repairs were carried out over the year to the ¢hurcb buildings, most notably to the roof and to the drain and downpipe at the back door. We had a small problem with a rat family in the basement and we are still to hav¢ a third visit from East Ayrshire Council to enswe we are clear to cover the holes in the vents. steps and stonework. Some upgrades w¢r¢ made to the sound system with the pur¢l)ase of new microphones and the replacement of some cables. Thanks again go to Jim Logan and his helpers for keeping the grass cut and the grounds tidy and to Senga M¢Geary for keeping the premises clean. We held OUT congregational meal in June1&8t year and we will continue WAth this again this year. The Candle Tea was held as usual in December and was enjoyed by those in attendance. Mrs M Farquharson took up the p)sl of Tea Convenor, appointed by the managers. We continued our long standing partnerships with both Loudon Musical Society and Beechwood Nursery, both use the hall facilities for their activities. All trustees of the church are now fully PVG complianl able to work with both vulnerable adults and children. These certificates will last for five years. The 8ratefiJl thanks of the managers and the congregation go to Rev Dr Ivy Barclay for her sterlin8 work on behalf ofthe church. both as the spiritual leader and in all the other roles she fulfils. A servant of the LORD in many ways. Thanks also go to the managers who put in lots of work often unnoticed, keeping the church nctionIng and looking good in many imp)rtant ways.
