The Group operates in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council in conjunction with Early Years Scotland and is regulated by SSSC, Care Inspectorate and the PVG scheme. Trustee recruitment and appointment Trustees are appointed at the AGM. The 2024 AGM was held in May 2024. No external body was used for any appointments.

Charitable purposes The aim ofthe group is to advance the education and social development
of preschool children with the emphasis on the play experience, so that
they take a constructive place in the community and also advance the
education of their parents and other appropriate persons.
in addition to the above the Group aims to:
- Provide a secure, friendly caring, safe and welcoming
environment
- Provide a wide variety ofstimulating and enjoyable activities and
resources appropriate to each child’s needs
- Plan, observe and evaluation for individual children within the
curriculum for Excellence and Pre Birth to Three
- Work in partnership with parent/carers and other agencies
- Aid staff to develop their full potential through training courses and
appraisals

Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of Development of the rising 5 group children in preparation for the step up to the charity during the financial period Primary school. Fundraising was successfully held providing entertainment for all ages throughout the community, this has been done through Christmas and seasonal events. This is essential to the group and its future. Nursery opening hours have remained at the enhanced openings in line with now offering 9-3 term funded hours through Aberdeenshire Council funding allocation.

Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy £10,000 is kept so if all income ceased we could operate at full capacity on reserves for 3 months. £20,000 is kept in a separate account as a redundancy pot which currently exceeds the minimum requirements set by the Government. Details of any deficit There is no deficit. Donated facilities and services (if any) | Fees for the rented premises are at a discounted rate. Various services supplied to the Group at discounted rates during the fundraising events. Various donations from local companies and community for fundraising raffles etc.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner's statement

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent examiner's statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: e to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
