Alleviate any financial hardship that may be suffered by a family of a child suffering from cancer or leukaemia. Financial stress commonly arises, as one parent will inevitably give up their employment to nurse the child, thus putting a strain on the domestic budget together with incurring additional expenses such as heating, telephone, travel and accommodation. Essential equipment is provided for the Oncology ward at Aberdeen Childrens' Hospital. Other requests are also considered from time to time.

Objectives: Objects: (a) Financial assistance to families facing hardship, i.e. families from Highlands and Islands as well as the outlying areas of' the Grampian Area shall be given assistance with travel expenses, air fares, taxis etc. Help will be given to parents facing large costs incurred due to bereavement. (b) Money shall be provided f'or the upkeep of' Holiday Caravan at Upper Largo, Fife, (c) Medical equipment shall be provided if a special request for such is made by the medical staf'f' (d) Money shall be provided for the upkeep of the video equipment in the Ward, i.e. replenishment of video tapes. (e) An amount shall be set aside annually for research purposes. Dr. Dawson's Leukaemia Fund Aberdeen. (f) Small items for the comfort and amusement of children attending hospital clinic or long term stay patients will be provided upon request.
