The New Gilston and Woodside Village Hall organises activities, such as coffee mornings, lunches and pub nights and provides facilities and a meeting place for other organisations with similar aims to the village hall, which is to enrich the lives of the two villages' inhabitants. Private activities include Carpet Bowls, Yoga, and Community Council meetings. By creating this meeting space in a rural and remote community, the hall promotes community bonding and reduces feelings of isolation and loneliness among inhabitants

Objectives: OBJECTS The objects of the Hall shall be to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of New Gilston and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to Provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that the conditions of their lives may be improved.
