The Hospice’s purpose and principal activity is to provide specialist palliative care and hospital based complex clinical care to the communities it serves. The Hopsice has adopted an approach to providing care that is holistic and considers the spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs of its patients. The Hopsice wants every patient to achieve realistic goals and to reach their full potential until death, valuing what they have to offer, respecting the autonomy of the individual, and encouraging them to participate in their own care together with their family and friends.An importan aspect of te hospces work is to help family members cope with their loved one’s illness and also provides support to the family after the person dies, including help with grieving.
Objectives: The objects for which the Company is established are to provide medical, surgical and nursing services and accommodation, and generally health and respite care facilities, for the treatment of sick, disabled and elderly people and for the relief, care, palliative care and rehabilitation of sick, disabled and elderly people. to provide a pastoral care service for the spiritual welfare and support of patients, relatives and staff. and to promote research into and education on the treatment and care of sick, disabled and elderly people and the prevention of sickness, disease and disability.
