Befriend a Child is a local charity supporting children and young people growing up in complicated life circumstances across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to help them overcome disadvantage and have the best chance in life to thrive. We support school aged children with our 1:1 and group befriending and mentoring programmes as well as hosting 3 youth clubs in our local communities. These sessions provide an opportunity for socially isolated youngsters to build confidence around their peers in a safe and fun environment. We also work with befriended and mentored children’s families who are struggling with the cost of living, isolation, abuse, mental health and a range of various circumstances where they need practical and focused support.

Objectives: The objects of the Company shall be to advance the education, promote the welfare and relieve the suffering and distress of children and young people resident in Aberdeen City and its environs by providing, managing and operating a befriending scheme for those among the aforementioned children and young people who would benefit from such scheme. and to do all other such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of these objects.
