**What the charity does:** BACS operates as an active network of archivists, academics and businesses to connect all those with an interest in Scottish business archives & history. We promote the maintenance and use of archives as corporate assets. promote records and information management within business. hold conferences, events, and training days. publish a journal. offer consultancy services to businesses on archives and records management through the Surveying Officer. and liaise with other heritage bodies to ensure that business archives are recognised as a cultural asset.

**Objectives:** The objects of the Council shall be: 1. To advance education in business and economic history through the study of business archives. 2. To advance Scottish heritage and culture through the identification and preservation of the historical records of business enterprises in Scotland.
