Muthill Parish Church of Scotland Trnstees, Annual Report Year ended 31 December 2025 Structure, Governance and Management Governing Document The Church is admtnistered in accordance with th¢ tenns of the Deeds of Conslitution (Unitary Forni) Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees Members of the Kirk Session are the charity trustee5. The Kirk Session members ar¢ th¢ elders of the church and are chos¢n from those members of the church who are considered to have the appropriate gifts and skills. Since March 2022 when our Miftisler rettred, w¢ have been fortunate lo have our services led by members of our congregation and oth¢r friends of the Church. Organisational Structure The Kirk Session is responsible for spiritual and temporal affairs within the church. It nornially meets slx times a year, or as often as is necessary to fulfill its responsibilities. Objectives and Activities The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine, Refonned in tradition and Presbyterian in policy. It exists to glorify God and to work for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom throughout the world. As a national Church, it acknowledges a distinctive call and duty to bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every parish of Scoiland through a territorial ministry. It co-operates with oth¢r Churches in various ecumenical bodies in Scotland and beyond. Muthill Parish Church of Scotland conducts Services of Worship every Sunday and other Services to commemorate special events eg.Christmas and Easler.We hold a Sunday School, Guild, and weekly Lunch Club (non-denominational providing a Wami Space). Variou5 aclivities are run for the wider community eg.mens club.quiz nights,coffee mornings,and film nights in conjunction with neighbourAng Episcopal Church, in our r¢furbish¢d building. Pag¢ 3

Muthill Parish Church of Scotland Trusteesg Annual Report {¢ont) Year ended 31 December 2025 Achievements and Performance We now produce a weekly video recording of our sern'ces which is distributed via YouTube to those unabl¢ to attend Church and as Te¢ordings lo housebound members who lack internet connection. We support our spiritual development through housegroups organised by several m¢mbers of the Congregation. and hav¢ re-estsblished weekly Scripture Union meetings for children. Financial Review The results for the year ended 31 st December 2025 are shown in the Rec¢ipts and Payments Accounts Accounts on Page 7 and the Statement of Balances is set out on Page 8. These Should be read in conjunction with ihe Notes to the Accounts on Pages 9-12. Total receipts amounied to £89664 and iotal payments £63461 This gave rise to a surplus for the year of £26203. The comparative figures for 2024 were Receipts £102,436 and total paymenls £123,337. This gave risc to a deficii for the year of £20,901 The principal sources of income to the General Fund (the day-to-day operating a¢¢ount of the Church) are included at Note 2 under the heading Unrestricted Funds. These totalled £79281 compar¢d with the 2024 figure of £55441. Tolal Ordinary General Expendilure for 2025 amounted to £52974 (2024., £54639) resulting in a sutplus in Ordinary General Income of £26307 {2024: £802). The Trust¢¢s regard the overall financial postion of the charity to be sound due to subslantial reserves of Un￿stricted funds accumulated in the past, but note that no regular paymenls are being made to an incumbant Minister. Reserves Polley The Muthill Kirk Session Fund represents the balance of the Reserves held by the Church. At the end of the financial year £81854(44.1 % ) was invested in bank deposits and £103,957 (55.90/0) in Quoted Investments at cosl. It is the the Trustees Policy to hold bank balances sul'ficient to cover the Ordinary General Expenditure for th¢ ensuing year and to utilise the income from this fund to d¢fray nOn-recU￿lng iterns of expend2ture. Muthill Parish Church of Scotland Trustees, Annual Report (cont) Year ended 31 December 2025 Statement of Trustees, Responsibilities The members of the Kirk Session are required to prepare financial statements which give sufficient delail to enable an appreciation of the trdnsactions of the Church during the financial year. The members of the Kirk Session are responsible for keeping proper accountin8 records which. on request, must reflect the financial position of the Church at ihat time. This must be done to ensure that th¢ financial statements comply with Ihe Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Acl 2005. the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and the Regulations Aneni Congregational Finance approved by the General Assembly of ihe Church of Scotland in 2007. They are also r¢sponsible for safeguarding th¢ assets of the Church and must take reasonable steps for the prevention andlor detection of fraud and other irregularities. Muthill Parish Church of Scotland SC 004984 Report of the Independent Examiner Re$peetive responsibilities of trustees Vdnd examiner The charity trustees consider that an independent examination is needed under section 44(1)(c) of the Charities and Truste¢ Inv¢stment (Scotland) Act 2005. 11 is my responsibility to examine the accounts under section 44(1)(c) of the Acl and to stale whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's Statemenl An examination includes a r¢view of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from th¢ Irust¢¢s concerning any such matters. The procedur¢s undertaken do not provide all the evidence ihat would be required in an audit. and consequenily I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. Independent examiner's statement In the course of my examination of the statement of account for thc year ended 31 December 2023, no matter has com¢ to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material re5pect- accounling records have not been kept in accordance with Section 44 {1)(a) of the CharitRes and Truslee Inveslments (S¢oiland) A¢i 2005 and Regulalion 4 of Th¢ Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 the accounts do not accord with those records the statement of account do not cornply with any of ihe requiremenls of Regulation 9 of The Charities Arxounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached Ian A.
