We have passed our first anniversary- on 27th October- which wa5 marked with a Special service of 'fhAnksgiwing and a Congreg￿)0￿&1 lunch. Th¢ Old Parish ChyrLh building5 have now been sold. refurbished and r¢-op¢ned und¢r ihe managernent of Cockenzie I Iou5¢ and Gardens, whose aim is to run the venue for the lo¢a5 ¢oinmunity. Colin Sutherland, Tr¢a5urer ## **Trustees' Annual Report (cont) Year ended 31 December 2025** ## **Reserves Policy** It is the Trustees' policy to ensure that all commitments are met each year, and that a surplus is held for contingency purposes. At the year end, unrestricted cash reseives are £94,869 of which £2,983 is designated for the Guild. The remaining general unrestricted reseives of £91,886 represent around 8 months of normal expenditure. The level of reseives continues to be reviewed along with current and anticipated need for fabric maintenance. ## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities** The members of the Kirk Session must prepare financial statements which give sufficient detail to enable an appreciation of the transactions of the Church during the financial year. The members of the Kirk Session are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which, on request, must reflect the financial position of the Church at that time. This must be done to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and the Regulations Anent Congregational Finance approved by the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 2007. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Church and must take reasonable steps for the prevention and/or detection of fraud and other irregularities.
