## **Objectives and activities** 

Our Society was set up in 1896 to bring enjoyment to the local community through music and singing.  The society originally performed Operatics.  This evolved over the years and we now perform musicals from different eras and styles.  The society was originally called Cupar Amateur Opera Company. 

Every February, we normally perform a musical and then a few months later in May, we have a fund raising concert over two nights, to help finance the main Febraury show. 

Due to further Covid restrictions, we unfortunately had to cancel on 2022 performance of All Shook Up.  We did manage to carry out some fundraising throughout the year.  We Sang carols in our local Tesco store at Christmas and held our annual coffee morning in February.

At our AGM, committee members stepped down and new committee members were voted on my society members.  Committee members are expected to serve for 3 years 

## **Achievements and performance** 

No in person performances took place in this time period, due to further Covid restrictions. 

The decision to cancel was made at the start of 2022, as the Scottish Government was increasing restrictions again, that had been previously relaxed.  It would mean that we would have much smaller audiences, so the committee took the difficult decision to cancel the show. 

## **Financial review** 

Statement of the charity’s policy on reserves 

We normally hold reserves of between £18,000 to £20,000.  This was due to a legacy left to us of £10,000 by a member that suddenly passed away in 2014.  Since his passing, we have been able to maintain this level.

Details of any profit 

There has been a profit this year as we had very little outlays and members paid their annual subscriptions – these were reduced, as we carried forward, what members had paid the previous year.  Our fund raising activities helped boost our funds further. 

**Future plans** 

After 2 years of no main February show, we hope to be able to perform All Shook Up, after postponing it this year.
