Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees Members of the Kirk Session and the Congregational Board are the charity trustees. The Kirk Scssion Inembers are the elders of the ¢lilih aiid are ¢lios¢n froin those member.9 of the church who are considered to have the appropriate gifts 4md skills. The minister, w110 is a member of the Kirk Session, is elecled by the congyegiation and inducted by Presbytery. The Congregational Board is appointed from witl)ii) the Congregation and membetB of tlie ¢oThgregation ar¢ invited to nominate individuals who are believed to have th¢ skills and ¢ommitm¢nt to ¢ontributc to th¢ Tnanageiiient IL ffairs of the Cliurch, to become Ineinbers of the Board. Jackson Parish church has a service on a Sunday Inorning witli additional ¢vening services lo celebrate specTfic Christian evenTS. All services are available On-line Éo allow members wl)o are iiifirni or suffcring from an illness to ¢ontinu¢ to worship. We are very fartunate to have con7mittcd aiid enthusiastic leaders and helpers within our uniformed oi'ganisations, Kids bor Christ. aiid Bible Bashers. All Unilorm¢d urganisations, KFC and Bible Baslicrs are reporting very good attcndance. Yoiitli Club also remains very strong iii numbers with betw¢cn 100- 120 young p¢opl¢ ¢acli week from the local community attending. The Guild, Craft Class, Art Class, Badminton and Line Dancing are reporting good attendance witli hall usage almost at full capacity. Eiiable Scoiland me¢t iii Ihe main hall on a weekly basis. Alzheimer's Scotland, LAMH, Hilltop PTA aThd other local groups have also uscd oiir halls &8 requested. At the General Assetnbly in 2025 it was confimied that the General Ti'Ltstees of the Chiirch of Scotland approved Forth V&lley and Clydesdal¢ Mission Plan. MPAG recoininendation for Airdrie.. Jackson cluster, which comprises Aii'dri¢: Jackson, Airdri¢- The New WellNynd aiid Aii'drie: St. Coliimba's, was on tlie basis of two buildings and two Mii)ister8 of Word and Sacramenl. one being Airdrie.. Jackson; and the second being a deferred union of New W¢llwynd and St Coluinba's. Achievements and Performance Froin May until September 2025 Rev Kay was mentoring a potential caT]didate forthe ministy throughout his diseemment process. Rev Kay participatcd in Scliool Assemblies througliout most of the year at Hilltop Priin&ry and Caldervale High School. however these visits l)ad lo be curtailed from August whtle awaiting enhan¢¢d SaFeiard[lIg p¢rn]ission to visit scliools whicli is being undertaken bv North Lanarkshire ¢oun¢il. Older Nursery Children from Hilltop Primary School and LCSC Infant Department continue to visit the church for "Breakfast with tlie Rev" every few weeks with some parents attending with the younger children. SL Doininic's Primary have also had an invilatioii to attend "Breakfast with the Rev- but have so far been unable to visit due to staffing issues.
Rev Kay eiideavouts to go into Caldervale Higli School at least one lunch tiine a week to meet with young people who meet iii one of the RMPS classes to share lun¢h and liave general conversations. Rev Kay lias also been involved with RMPS class discussions with lopi¢s that has a moral or ethical comicction at how the Christian Faith impacts on it. Tliese visits have also been ¢urtailed since Avgust while awaiting enhaiiced Safeguarding approval from North Lanarkshire CoLincil. The Childrei)'s home, which is within the parish, receives regulai. visits from Rev Kay. Rev Kay also altends m¢etings of the Craigneuk aiid Petersburn Tenants Association. NLC Community Matters, Hilltop Parent Council - this is a pi'oductive rel2tioiiship with the chiirch regarding social and coinmunity projects. Thei'e are services lield in the local Shelte1 Housing. DuF)robin Gardens on difference oooasions throughout the year. Mr Derrick Hannan and Mr Drew Main are both approved Worship Leaders wlio have led ilie congregation in worsliip at various times during 2025. Elders continue to participate in Prayers during Sunday Worship. Airdrie.. Jackson joined other local ¢hur¢hcs to support World Day of Prayer. Airdric.. Jackson, Airdric- Ncw W¢llwynd aiid Airdrie.. Columba's participated in joint Holy Week Serviccs- and duriiig ihe first ihree Sundays in Jiily each church in turn welcoilled the other two congregations to join them for Sunday man)ing worship. Annu21 Monklands Division Girls Brigade R¢-D¢dication and Commissioning Service W2s held in Jacksoii in October and in November Jackson hosted a well-attended Annual ChTi5tian Aid Songs of Praise. The BB District Battalion Carol service was held in Ja¢k80n. Members also participated in the Airdric Cominunity Carol Service. The Annual Remcmbcring service for famili¢s who liad 105t a loved one in the past two years was organised and delivered once again in Jiin¢ by OUT-'SeekeTS and Searchers" group- a weekly Bible Siudy Group. TIIis 5crvice. aiid luncli which was setved thereafter, was very well attended. Jackson's Seasons for Growth companions liave also completed th¢ir refresher training, and it is hoped to a coursc in 2026. The Youth Organisations had their annual giving day service, and Kids for Christ once again produced a very eiitertaTning Nativity which was followed by a visit liom Sanla with Chocolate gifts for all the children in the Church. Christmas Eve started with a "Pyjajna" service for thc children at 6.30p.m. and thcn later in th¢ evening a Carol Setvicc and a Watchniglit Service with Bible Readings and Carols leading lis into Christmas Day. The local Food Bank continue to receive generous we¢kSy donation8 from our members. Throughout the Year w¢ havc also supported"Diamonds in the Community.: with inctnbers respoiidin¥ vcry positively to a request for doiiations to their Winter Coats appeal. Young people from our iinifom)ed QTganisations and church membetE gifted a substantial amount of Christmas gifts whicli were received by "Diftjnonds in the C()mmunity-"- for distribution to needy families. Duriiig 2025 the congre&tiOn also supported Christian Aid, St. Andrews Hospic¢, Erskin¢ H05pilal and WoTMen's Aid. In conjiinction with Compassion UK, th¢ congregalion of JacOn ¢urrently support three yoiing people to complete their Ediication. Thc5¢ young people live in Mexico, Rwai)da and Haiti with ag¢s vary'iiig from 7 - 20. Jac]tson also Scnds montlily donation8 to both Compassion, Mary's Meals and also Childrens Hospice Across Swtlai1d. We contiiiue to have a good relationship with St. Edwards RC Church, joining them in variou5 social events during the ycar. Mr David AIcKander has worked very hard over the past year to ensure all people requiring a PVG were identified. and their applications processed. Church of Scotland and Police Scotland Ye-categoriscd which positions require a PVG; this meant that our Saf¢gFuarding register had to iindei'go a review which result¢d in a niitnbeT of mcinbers being removed trom the Safeguarding register. Mr Detyick H]nan continues to bc an additiOT]al Safeguarding Co-ordinator. Ja¢kson celebrated 50 years in the ciirrent locatioii by planting a commemorative tree.
Sadly, w¢ lost eleven of our meinbcrs diiring 2025. Foiir membeis joined by transfer fi'om another church. Nuiiib¢r ofmembers on the Airdric.. Jackson roll at the end of the year is 257. We ciirrently have 6 potential new Membe iindertaking Communicant classes and will bc welcomed as new members in April 2026. Financial Review Fr¢cwill otfering envelopes rcceive weekly offerings. Standing Orders are actively encouraged And can be set lip for either gk weekly or monthly offering., m¢inbers are en¢oiiraged to seriously considcr giving by Staiiding Order and Completing Gift Aid foFEnS where applicable. We in Jaclcson continue to fulfil our Giviiiu to Grow contribution set by tlie Cliurch of Scotland; our conlribiition for 2025 was £53617. l ain pleased to report that this ¢ontribiilion met the full cost of ttLinistry and contributed to work withi the Nationttl Chuieh and beyond. The Ministry and Mission contribiition is made by l O tllontlily payni¢nts from Febrii&?ry to Novembei., set up by standing order. During 2025 our church roof was i"¢plac¢d costing approximatelv £120,000 with the General TriEstees of the Cliur¢h of Scotland plVid1ng a Grant Df £50,000 to aug¢* the £70,000 being provided from Jackson's own resoiiires. Chairs within in the cliurch that had been in use for past fifty were replaced by 200 new chaits at th¢ eost ol £10,000.
