IN THE LAST YEAR WE HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS ON THE MURAL FOR THE WALL OF THE COMMUNAL AREA BESIDE THE NURSES STATION ON THE WARD AND ON THE LABELS FOR ITEMS DONATED BY THE FRIENDS. WE HAVE MADE LIMITED PROGRESS ON REPLACING THE STANDALONE WATER COOLERS WITH FULLY PLUMBED AND INSTALLED UNITS BUT WE PERSEVERE. WE HAVE CONTINUED TO FUND PURCHASES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PATIENTS IN THE WARD INCLUDING TELEVISION FOR BOTH THE INDIVIDUAL PATIENT ROOMS AND THE COMMUNAL AREA. A VAPORIZER, SPECIALIZED CUPS AND THE RAIZER CHAIR TO AID WITH SAFE, DIGNIFIED LIFTING OF PATIENTS WHO HAVE FALLEN. WE ALSO FUNDED EQUIPMENT FOR THE OT DEPARTMENT TO USE WITH INPATIENT EXERCISE CLASSES AND OUTPATIENTS. AS EVER, WE CONTINUE TO FUND CHRISTMAS, BIRTHDAY AND EASTER GIFTS FOR THE PATIENTS AND MY THANKS TO CONNIE IRVINE AND ADELINE CASEY FOR CO-ORDINATING THESE. OUR SECOND ANNUAL RAFFLE WAS HINDERED BY THE APPALLING WEATHER SO DID NOT RAISE AS MUCH AS THE PREVIOUS YEAR.

Objectives: (1) To promote the welfare of patients and staff at Blairgowrie Community Hospital. (2) To provide aids and comforts for patients, ex-patients, and staff as required. (3) To raise funds for these objectives.
