Objectives: The Charitable Purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are: 3.1.1 to provide financial assistance and other benefits, from time to time, to former residents and/or former employees of the former Widowers' Children's Home, Edinburgh who are in need by way of ill health, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 3.1.2 to provide financial assistance to charities registered in Scotland, in particular those that are concerned with the care and welfare of children. and 3.1.3 to provide relief by way of grants or other means to individual children and young adults up to the age of 25 or the families of such individuals for the purpose of education, training, treatment for mental or physical disabilities or ill health, the provision of equipment for the benefit of such individuals and the provision of holidays and the like.
