Page I Coatbridge Baptist Church Report of Trustees The Trustees are pleased to present their report together with the financial statements of the church for the year ended 30 September 2022. Status of Charlty and Governlng Document Coatbridge Baptist Church is established by Constitution. The church is a Scottish Charity (No. SC 0036791 and is recogni5ed bythe Inland revenue underthe reference number CR 43971. Aims and Affillatlon The aims of the church are in line with Its Mission 5tatÈment- MGking Christ known by Word and Artlon". The church 15 affiliated to the Baptist Union of Scotland. Trustees and Office Bearers The church is congregational in Its polity and its day to day running is undertaken by the Minister (when appointed) and the Deaconate (the Trustees). The Office Bearers who served during the year and to date of thls report were as follov•s:_ Treasurer Secretory Deacons Minister Appolntment of Trustees The Trustees are those who make up the deaconate of the Church. Each deacon is elected to serve for a period of four years. Each deacon will have been a member of the Church for at least three years and will have either served the church in some capacity or will have been recognised as a person with the particular qualities necessary to serve in a leadership position. They will be familiar with the church's values, tts aims and objectives as well as its day-to-day operations. As part of their induction programme, new deacons are required to understand their statutory responsibilities as trustees of the church. Governlng Document The church is a charitable unincorporated association governed by our own constitution.

Page 2 Coatbridge Baptist Church Trustees Report Achievements and Performance During the year. the church met regularly for worship and carried out various activities in pursuit of the above stated aims. Significant highlights, events and developments of note in the year include the following:_ In relation to activities: The continuing work with children in the fellowship via Kidzone Our services around advent and Christmas reaching out to the community Re-establishlng links locally after we re-opened after the restrictions due to Covld were eased In relation to fundlng: Participation by church members in the Gift Aid scheme Supporting local food bank through monetary donations The work of the church has been gradually increasing With the continuin8 commitment of the membership and associated upkeep of the premises. Trustees remuneratlon and expenses No trustee received any remuneration. Reserves The church had a surplus of £2,636.63 for the year, therefore the church held funds of £23,788.77 at the year end. It is the policy of the church to keep sufficient funds to enable the on-going work ofthe church to be maintained in a Current Account. Page 5 Independent Exarninerfs Report to the Tntstees of Coatbridge Baptist Church I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 September 2022 which are set out on pages 3 & 4. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charitvs trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 21X)5 and the Charities Accounts 15cotlandl Regulations 2006. The charlty trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 4411) {cl ofthe Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent examlnerfs statement My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeks explanations from the trustees concernin8 any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
