The comparative figures as shown on pag¢5 6 to 13 represent merged Accounts with th¢ unincorporated charity, Strathaven Evangelical Church (Scottish Charity No. SC003368). Status of Charity and Goycrning Document Strathaven Evangelical Chuich (SCIO) (also referred to as "SEC" or'lhe church") was incorw)rated as a SCIO on 4 February 2020 (Chariry No. SC049920) and i5 governed by the SCIO Constitution. Prior to obtaining SCIO Sta￿S, the church's affairs were operated by Strathaven EvangelicAI Church (Scottish Charity No. SC003368). Consent was given by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator on 8 June 2021 to wind up the charity including thc transfer of assets io the SCIO. At the signing date of these Accounts. the winding up process was ongoing. Charitable Objectives and Aims As indicated in paragraph 4 of the SCIO Constitution, the church's purpose is the advanceTnent of the Christian faith, and in furtherance of this.. to celebrate and promote the Christian faith, primarily in Strathaven and the Su￿ound1ng 8rea and also throughout Scotland and beyond, by all means eongistertt Wlth the teachings of the ChTlStian Bible. to provide education and equipping in Christian b¢liefs and life choices to church members aAd attendees, the local community and beyond. to provide spiritual, emotional and practical support to those in n¢¢d, including church memb¢rs and attendees, people within our community and beyond. to provide support (including financial) to individuals and ag¢n¢i¢s engaged in Christian ministries, pov¢rty relief and educational development. to support and advance local commuT)ity development and similar charitable purposes insofar as such purposes are not inconsistent with the above. Trustees and organisatiOTt structure For the purpose of chariry law. the TTUStees of the church are also the charity'5 Trustses. The church is independent and congregational in poli¢y. The Trustees are responsible for the church's overdll direction and govemance and engage others in h¢lping them to manage the day to day running of the church. Appointment of Trustees The process for the appointment of Trustees is outlined in the SCIO Constitution with Trust¢¢s expected to serve for a period of two years. Prior to their appointm¢nt, Trustees would have served the church for some time in varsous role5 and would be familiar with the church's values, its aims and objectives as well as its day-to~day operations. As part of their induction programTne. new Trusiees are required to understand their statutory responsibiliti¢s and are provided with a copy of the church's last annual Accounts along with OSCR'S publication, Guidance al￿goOdpraC1ICefQr charity Trusiees. On Sunday l August 2021 and. by using seating 2re2s of the church building that had previously been r¢stricted, th¢ limit on numbers attendKng inLieased to 50. On 9 August 2021. distancing restrictions for churches were lifted such that our limit increased to 100 attendees based on seating availability and ippropriate spacing. The Sunday morning Service continues to be live str&￿￿ed and a¢￿SSIble thereafter via YouTub¢. Week night House Groups and prny¢r meetings ¢ontinued via Zoom until the ending of Covid-19 r¢stTiCtions. The church's Pastor Teacher. took the l¢ad in pie2ching and pastoral responsibilities aided in preaching by a numbeT of lay Pre￿her$ who are church members and by others visiting. nn ?3 liine ?0• I the chiirch held its first AGM as a SCIO at which co-opted Tr￿￿tte$ were fornially appointed as Trustees joining Pastor dnd iustees mei monthly until November 2021 and tWiC¢ Tnonthly thereafter to GLddrLss ill￿15 issues alongside a number of governance matters arising from the church's SCIO status including the updating of policies for Safeguarding. GDPR. Health and Sifety and Fire. The church's solicitors were engaged to transfer th¢ titl¢ of the church building previously held by the church in its unincorporated status to the SCIO. The transfer was concluded in March 2022 although th¢ Trustees still await re¢¢ipt of the registered title in the name of the SCIO. After a protract¢d application process, the ¢burch opened a new SCIO bank account in early April 2022 with the Bank of Scotland. The process IS still ongoing to transfer transactions from the church's former bank account to the new bank account. Care for the local and wider community continued io be expressed by church members through regular donations of food to the East Kilbride Community Food Bank. From a small stock of food held in the church, emergency food packs were delivered to at least two households each week by a team from the Church. At Christma5 2021, the church's Food Bank provided festive food hampers to 25 homes along with Christmas presents for ¢hildren from these homes. With donations from church members, local people and community action gTOilPS. the church's Food Bank has also been able to help individuals and households With rising ¢nergy costs. This ministry has opened doors to provide pastordl care. The Church's Pastor Teacher is involved in the Iyorking Togeiher 4 AvondL71e community group, which brings him into contact with people in the coffimunity who hav¢ a wide varsety of domesiic and financial needs. From time to time, the Pastor receives referrals from Social Services or other local agencies to provide pastor21 care. The nced to estsblish a new Leadership Team was discussed at a M¢￿be[S, meeting in August 2021. A working group was fornied to facilitate this process and, after a number of consultative meetings, church members voted to adopt a singlc tier Leadership team. At the AGM on 4 May 2022, 5 new leaders were appointed to the Lead¢rship teatn, wilh 4 also being appointed as Trustees. The Leadership Team has 8 Leaders with 7 serving as Trnstees Interest in worldwide Missio¥Jary work was promoted throughout the year by ihe chuwh's Mission Teatn with various updates and reports from the church's missionary partners across the world and UK Christian agencies with whom th¢ church has the privilege of partnering via Page 3

FiDan¢ial Review Principalsources DIfunding The church receives its funding from church mernbers and visitors by way of offerings and don&tions in¢luding Oift Aid donations. R£su115for IheyÉ4r The Accounts for the year are set out ID pages 6 to 13. Per the Stalemenl of Receipts apzd Paymenis on pag¢ 6, th¢ church reported a Deficit for the year of £37,743 (2021 Surplus £107,409). As indicated in Note 5, the church received an unrestri¢ted legacy {£121,131) during the year ended 31 March 2021 from a fomi¢T member. Re5ultantly, and with un￿StriCted reserves of £162,608 in the church's General Fund at 31 Mawh 2021. church members approved A Deficit budget for the year ended 31 March 2022 at the Annual Gen¢ral Meeting on 23 June 2021 which included sizeable increases in the church's giving to misiion organisations op¢rating in the UK and around the world with which the church has an affinity and partnership. Reserves Policy It is the policy of the church to Tnaint2in Unrestricted Funds, i.e. funds not committed or invested in fixed assets, at 2 level which equates to approximately three months of unrestricted expenditure. This allows Sufficient funds to enable the ongoing work of the church to ￿ maintained. Per the Stalement of Balaplces on page 7, the Gen¢ral Fund at 31 March 2022 amounted to £126,864 (2021 £162,608) which. despite exce¢ding the required level, was acceptable to the Trustees in light of the legacy as mentioned above. Grant Making Poliey The ohvr¢h makes grants from its income to indivÉduals and organisations that are generally known to the Trust¢es and the church. The benefi¢iari¢s are involved activities or ministries compatible with the church's objectives. R¢putable bodies involv¢d in disaster relief work would be included whenever support needs arise. Respective RespoDsibilitie5 of Trustee$ xnd Examiner The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts in accordance with the tems of the Charities and Trustee Investment (ScoÈlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation l O( l) (d) of the Accounts RegulatiOE15 does not apply. It is my responsibility to examinc the Accounts as required under Section 44(1) (cl of the Act aiid io State wh￿her particular matters have COEne to rny attention. Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement My examination was carried out in accordance with R¢gulation I l of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination include5 a review of th¢ ac¢ounting records kept by the charity and a compari50n of the Ac¢ounts presented with those records. It also include5 consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the Accounts, and seeks explanations frorn the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidenc¢ that would be required in an audit, and consequently E do not express an audit opinion on the view giv¢n by the Aceountg. Basis of Accounting The Accounts have been prepared on a Receipts and Payment5 basis in accordance with the Charities and Tnjstee Investment IScoil2ndl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (S¢otlandl Regulations 2006 {as amended). Fixed Assets Fixed Assets (per page 7) of £135,000 reflect the valuation of the church building as provid¢d by Whyte & Barrie, Chartered Surveyors on I l February 2022. At 31 March 2021. the Accounts indicated Fixed Assets of £127,146 which included a £1 00,000 valuation of the church building a5 provided by Whyte & Ba￿le, Chartered Su￿.ey0rs 13 June 2003. Following the valuation of th¢ church building on I l February 2022, the Trustees decided that other Fixed Assets with a historic Carrying value of £27,146 should be removed from Fixed Ass¢ts.
