**What the charity does:** We provide historical information about life and the people of Dalbeattie in years-gone-by together with a large number of donated items from the past. We also make available a wide and extensive bank of resources, all of which are available on request at no charge. Visitors come from home and abroad and often include school visits. All visitors, and especially the younger ones, are encouraged to handle the items and to ask questions.

**Objectives:** The organisation's purposes are:  The advancement of education of the public in the history of Dalbeattie  The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science.  To extend, enhance and maintain a collection of social historic materials. preserve and restore other materials for the purpose of public display. and to carry out works for the improvement and development of the museum.
