Status of charity and governing document Denny Baptist Church is established by Constitution and aifiliated to the Baptist Union of Scotland. It is registered with OSCR as a Charity. The Scottish Charity Number is SC003231. This charity is in the process of being wound up and will transfer all its assets and liabilities lo Denny Baptist Church SCIO (SC051412). Office bearers and trustees The church is congregational in policy and its day lo day running is undertaken by the Deacons who. as office bearers in tem)s of its constitution and for the purpose of charity law. are its trustees. New trustees are nominated for appointment to this otTice under the ternis of the church's constitution. There is no fixed terni for Trnsteeship. Prior to their appointment, new Irust¢¢s would be active membe of ihe church who would have served the church for somc time in various roles and be familiar with th¢ church's values, its aims and objectivcs as wcll as its day to day operation). Bamisi Union ofscoiland) Charltsble objectives The charitable objectives of the church are the advaneement of the Christian faith primarily in Denny and the surrounding area and also throughout Scotland and the rest of the world by all means consistent with th¢ teachings of the Christian Bible including worshtp, ministry, MiSs￿n, prayer, witness, education, Community servi¢e and the support of agencies and individuals and other charitable organisations involved in Christian missionary work and the relief of povety or other social needs. Achievem¢nts and p¢rforn8nce TIIL LliiirLII LILEivitlLS in the past year were significantly impacted by the Covid pandemic. as aptK)inted in Fcbruary 2021 as Interim Minister on a part-time basis and served in this role until September 2021. He coniinued to serve as a voluntary interim Moderator for ihe rest of the financial year. The church services continued mostly online during the Covid pandemic. In April 5ervice5 were resumed in the church building following strict Covid protocols. We continued to use zoom for midweek gatherings and Church meetings. This was a year of preparation for the future of the church where significant work was undertaken. The church agreed to form a SCIO and to clos¢ this Charity - The trustees have overseen this process, transferred the asscls to the new SCIO and will in tim¢ close this charity making this the last annual report of the charity. A ¢ommunity audit was undertaken that has lead to a partnership with th¢ charity called Roots and with a choir from Strathcarron hospice. The Audit will also guide our futurc community engagement. The church a successful and reed to form a search group to begin looking for a new minister. This has been ill begin in September 2022. Page I

Monthly prayer events called Momentum We￿ established and stecial times of prayer were held. A monthly family service called Tribe was trialed for several months The church M'as eneoura8ed by a number of visiting speakers tho preached from September to February. Church attendance grew through the year from 30 to around 45. Financial review The Statement of Receipts and Payments on page 4, ieports a net deficit of £30,628 (2021.. Surplus of £6.464) represented by a general fund deficit of £28.582 (2021.. surplus £8,575) and restricted funds deficit of £2,046 (2021= deficit of £2.111). Reserves It is the policy of the church to maintain unrestricted funds at a level that equates to approximately three months of unrestricted expenditure. This allows sufficient funds to enable the ongoing work of the church to be maintained. As shown on page 5, the unrestricted General Fund at 28 February 2022 amounted to £44,408 (2021.. £72,990) which met with the policy. The church's reStri￿led funds at 28 February 2022 amounted to £2,087 (2021: £4,133). Total funds held on 28 February 2022 amount¢d to £46.495 (2021: £77.123). Accounting Policies Accounling eoiivenlion The financial statements have been prepared in aecordance with ihe Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). Bosis offiiiancialslalements The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. All income and expenses are accounted for when received or paid. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be recovered and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates. Funds For the purpose of the Receipts and Paymenls Account as shown on page 4, funds &re defined as follows.. Unrestricted funds comprise grdnts and other income recelved for the objects of the church wiihout further specified purpose and are available as general funds.
