Forth St Paiil's Parish Chiirch is administered in accordance with the ternis of the Deed of Constitiition
(Unitary form) from March 2010.
Recrultment and Appolntmtht of Trustees
Members of the Kirk Session are the charitv triistees.'I'he Kirk Session members are the active elders of the
ehiirch and are chosen Irom those rnembers of the chiirch who are a)nsidered to have the appropriate gifts
and skills. The minister, who is a member of the Kirk Session, is elected by the congregation and indiieted
by Presb)tery.

elders and representatives from the consregation. Each eommittee reports regularl> tothe Kirk Session. with
Regoiirces reporting at every rneetins.
Objectives and Actimties
The Chiirch of Scotland is Trinitarian An dortrine, Refortned in tradition and Presbyterian in polity. It exists
to glorify God and to Viork for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom throiighoiil the world. As a national
Chlirch, it acknowledges a dislinctile call and dutyto bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every
parish of Scotland through a territorial ministry. It Co-operates with other Churches in varioiis eciimenical
bodies in Seotland and beyond. The parish of Forth St Vaiil's covers the wmmunities of Forth, Wilsontown,
Haywood, Braehead, Climp), Auchengrny, Tarbrax and some farming communities on its borders.

on average 55-60 weekly worshipper5 allending chiirch and an average of 32 joining online. 01- 8ccessiiig a
recorded version of serviees via oiir YoiJTube channel. We are blessed to have over loo children linder 17
years of age involi'ed with oiir chiirch family which is wonderful and makes lis very hO￿f￿1 and positive for
a strong faithful future ahead.
We continued with services throughoiit the year ￿lebrating some s￿CIal services for
Mnther's Day, Eic Ste,r. Christian Aid, D4aj AnniversanT servi￿,.1]GSAw Appreciation
serN'iee, HArvest se.ryiee (with food donalions giN'en to oiir local food bank- Clydesdale
Food Bank). in November we. marked Remembran￿ Siinday, celebrated CommiiniDn

Lights linked in to our Santa's Crotto event which was a great eommunit) event.

The ehiirch family of Forth St Paiil's is varied, with people of all ages and experience involved. Slinday
wol'ship is held at 11:00am with a faithfiil five re￿lIarly attendinE oiir Siinday school known as.J.l.G.S.A.W.
Attendan￿S at serviees remain fairly healthy with an average of .95-60 regiilarly attending lieekly in pprson,
as well as an average of 32 watching the servi(Y via oiir liNpstrearn or re(rJnled servi(Y which we find very
encoura%inR. Sadly, we liave lost io members thmiiRhniit thp year. We also celebrated the l)Aptism of i adiilt
an(1 welcumed s new members into ourchurch family whie.h is a blessing.
Worship is varied with a mixture of traditionTrl and
contempordry styles, thercby mccting the needs of
dlffering generations and personalities.

The pastoral team make home visits to ehiirch members in ihe Vtll-ish who are hoiiseboiind, liwng in
residential care, or who are now iinable to (fjrne to chiireh. these i'isits are veiy informal. Siinday worship
is recordedllive streamed for anyone wlshing either to M'ateh at a later da)'/time. Re(x)rdiIigs are available
via a USB stick and oiir YouThibe channel. Listening to the children's address, sermon, prayers and singing
helps Members re.tain a more personal connection with our chiireh family, this is an important link in
keeping a personal eontact with oiir chiirch family. Sei'ernl members of the group assist with flower
deliveries after serviees each week.

Resources Committee and Building Dewlopment Group
They have resw)nsibility for property and finance, thev manage hall lets for both the ehiirch and the
(x)mmunity, oversee the etnployees, keep the biiilding wind and water tight as well as planning reqiiired
works. They also have Lhe Manbe Lo care for as it is a major asset for the church as well as a family home for
the minister. M e have been fortunaie lo get vvlunl¢ei" support from the local community to corry out a few
DIY jobs around our buildings which has proved helpful.

joyFLII and friendlv. They gladly join in with all the artiiities the leaders provRde. They have studied and
enjoyed activities alx)iit the parnbles Jesus told, Jesiis, 12 disciples. Creation. Noah's Ark and miracles
Jesiis performed.

children entered the chiirch on Palm Siinday waving palm
branehes and told the Faster story with happy and sad faTrs.
They then had a joyfiil time with an Easter egg hiint and

App￿ciation Day. so children talked Abolit their fathers and
then iised different coloiired eiindles to tell abolit the prayer
,lesiis taiight lis for his father. At the harvest serviee, the.
childre.n did a piipyet show about the selfish giant and a150
Ilsed thc piippets as part of the nativity play.
The children anLI leade1% woiild like to ihank the ￿ngregatIOn for always siipporting them and joining in
by singing and danclng in aisles and being wonderful nativity animals.
,IIGSAW continiies to be an active time with, arts and crdfts, games and storie&.SFGSAW continues to meet
on Siindays in the small hall from 10:50- 12.00 for child￿n age3 to secondary school age.
Mainly Musie
Mainly miisic started in 2018 and is still going strong with
of the original voliinteers. This terni we started back with
families and a fe.w children went on to niirsery. We now
have 6 new families i of them is a %rdn returningwith her
new srandson and next lerm we will have 3 moregran8
retitrnins.
We h2d a visit from 2 ladies from Dalkeith Edinbiirgh one
of them broiight theirwee boy as they are starting Mainly
Music in the areatheyboth enjoyed oiir session and were
glad for the. information wegave them. The feedback is great, e￿eryone10veS coming to Mainly Miisic one
thing the adlilts commented on was that we are not chi( rging enoiigh at the moment it is £2.00 pei- family
whieh Cove￿ snack and toy replacement therefore after FAster we are planning to raise the cost to £3.00.
The children love to help get the toys oirt and tidythem away. Mainly Music has brought a few children
oiit of their shell and now interact kvith the leaders and others, and it is a dear fomi of worship linking oiir
chiirch with families who woiildn't nornially (x)me a]ong to church.

The Guild
Oiii" Giiild is still going 5trons and in 2(Y24 is well attended by our 27 members. We don't have a committee
as siich, biit share diities eqiially since we all pay membership ftes and all have an eqiial say, and all work
together to keep things rLinning smwthly. Foi. thuse nol su fit Iheir (x)ntribiition is to come along to thc
meetings and we know if they keep coming they enjoy it, so we mist be doing sorneihing righL Wv i'eoiiiir

more trasiial still begin with a hymn, prayer and reading
Lisiially linking to the season or ciirrent interest. In March we
hosted the Woi4d Day of PrAyer service which we share wth
Carnwath, Carstairs and c2irngNffe giiilds and whieh was
well attended. Again we had siiecessfiil Faster and christma.s
Fayres raising fiinds for oiir church, these are very bLtsy days
well attended and siipported by oiir local community. These
cvents c1re only possible with the help we recei￿ from
.JIGSAW leaders and members of the congregation. Oiir
syllabiis was again arranged with siisgestions from nwmbers

Knit, Natter, Craft and Chatter Group (KNACC)
The KNALf currently has 8 members Imen and women) but is open to anyone to pop in. wlth dll deLisions
being made jointly, working as a team and althoiigh they do not ha￿e a bank accoiint, the chiirch siipports
thern as needed. The), meet from 10-12 noon on Monda)'s. Transport to the ellib is an iSSLie ciirrently bLIt we

by folk from other chiirches too. I have attended various tneetings Mith the cluster groiip for oiir chiireh
joi ni ng with C11 rstairs and Carnwath. Safegiiarding rneetings and also meetings with Street l£vel in
Carllike (which is a groiip for children and teenagers).
Forth Primary School and Niirsery visited oiir chiirch for
the Fastercode experie.nee, where 811 the child￿n come to
learn the Easter story in a fun 2nd intergctive way. Mfe have
lots of voliinteers prepare paneakes for their snack time
and we httve some miisic and dnnec to finish. The prim&ry
7 class eamc to VE8it and cxwrienee the Yoiith Rainforest
Cafe which is forteenagers on fridays. They got to sample
the food and enjoy ihe gatnes which we have foi. them as
they were all eligible lo attend oncetheywent on to high
school. At Han'e5t time every class made a pietr of
artwork which we displayed in Ihe small hall, the classes all
me to visit and I did a presentation on the einema scre.en
of the story of,loseph where they got a chance to wear the
hnicoloiired dreamcoat.. The COTnmLinity all got involved
in rnaking pieces of art too which were all on display. We had some fabiiloLiS Creations well done to

vell altended all getting tea, coffee, fresh scones and a good chattoo.
We organised training on Fo(xl Hysiene level 2 where io t¢e.nagcrs and io adult8 all passed, this not only
ensiires all voliinteers working in Olif Lalé lind with our groups who rnaj be handling food in any way? all
haye the appropriate training, but oiir teenagers have a qiialifi(Ailion and experience which can be incliided
on their Cvs for future employmenL
The Christmas season was iipon us again and thistakes a I(￿ of organisingand preparation, designing
Christma.4 eards to be delivered to Forth and siirroiinding areas, having a message with scriptlire and
prAyer as well as details of what is going on in oiir chiirch over the season hopefully reaching people who
don't know 8boiit lis yet. The Santa's Grotto and Chrislmas Lights Switch on is always a great family day
for all to enjoy. We now have a few ofthe teenagers frnm the )'outh Rainforest Cafe helping oiit setving tea
and coffee's. painting glittertattoos for the children. and making coffee
from oiir barista machine. The Christmqc s glow was very well atteiidojil

Rainforest Café The Rainforcst Cafe which is open Sundllys and

The majority of oiir financial siipport cotnes throiigh offerings. either by open plate or free.will e.nvelope
nffe.rings. In 20￿ throiigh the freewill offerings, we raised £29,414. in addition, £7,733 was recovered on
Gift Aid in the yeAr. BequestslDonations raised £8586 and £&8313 came in the open plare at Slinddy
worship.
The Giiild with the help of chlireh volunteers held their renowned Easter and Christmas Fayres, donating
generoiisly to chiirch ftinds. Other reglilar fLindraisin8 event.s help to siistain the ongoing operation of oiir
church these incliide oiir church shops, Pancake night, and finally oiir Christmas lights and Santa's Grotto

It is tlie Triistees. policy to hold reserves of approximately three months nornal expenditiire. At the. year e.nd
Ihe Chliich held iinrestricted cash fiinds of £58,805. Thc balanee on the Ceneral Fiind not designated for
other piirposes represents aboiil two montl)'s expenditure. The Trustees will eonsidcr how this can be
improved in the coming year.

The mernbers of the Kirk Session miist prepare financial statements which give sufficient detail to enable an
appreciation of the transactions of the Church diiring the financial year. The members of the Kirk Session
are responsible for keeping proper accoiinting records which. on reqiiest. rniist reflect the financial position
