During this year the Park Church eletted to adopt the Unitary Constitution making the Kirk
Session responsible for all areas of management. across the Prattical. Financial and Spiritual
needs of the congregation.

oversee the nllming of tbe church in aIl matters. We a150 have a number of Kid( Session Associates
previously members of the old Congregational Board. The Minister 15 el¢cted by th¢ Conwgation and
alld inducted by Presbytery. The Elders arc chosen from members of the Church who are
deemed io be suitable to carry out the required dutTres. The Associates are members chosen
as having th¢ appropriate qualifications for the management of the affatrs of the Cburch.

The Kirk Session meets at le&st fil'e times a year, led by the ModeTaknr, Rev Calum D Macdonald.
and is responsible for spiritual matters within the Church. One Elder represents the Kirk Session
at Tneetings of Presbytery and two Elders with the Moderator represent the Session at the regular
area cluster planning fflgetiDgs of the seven IIKai ¢huTches.
Aettvities and Achievements
The congregation has met on all but three Sundays throughout the year to worship God and cnjoy the
company and fellowship of others. On those Sunday5. in recognising that the church is th¢ peopl¢ and
and not th¢ building, the congregation joined all the other cluster congregations at Eastw(KMI
Pollokshaws. Giffn￿k South and Thornli¢bank ¢hur¢hes for a Songs of Praise.
However, the Session and MembeTS of the Church are disapwinted that the idea for team ministry
advanced by our Cluster as it seek5 to pr(rtect both our minister5 by slwillg the WO￿load as well
&8 all th¢ ¢ongr¢gations ¢nhan¢ing shared skills was not su¢¢¢ssful.
The memlxrs of the Ses5ioll with llwiy helper4 within and outi¥ith the chwcl organise ￿MmUnity
¢venis throughout the year. On 14th March ID partnership with the Mearns Horticulturnl s￿Iety wc
hosted our first Spring Flower Show and this proved to k an outstanding success with many att¢nd¢es
from the local community and b¢yond almost swamping OUT two ha115 as reported in the press. Our
gardens were well stock¢d wtth spring flow¢rs with our Pea¢e Pol¢ a focus SUTrounded by flowers.
The weather looked unpromising in early June for our annual Summer Fair but the sun came out
and quite quickly the ha115 and gardens were full of local people eDjOytng themselves.
Our Pea¢e Pol¢ was installcd in th¢ Church garden in 2023 and in S¢pt¢tnber we again celebrated
the Illternationgl World Day of Pe#¢e this year with a joint servic¢ for all the ¢hur¢hes in thc cluster.
and particular relevant wtth so many conflicts tsking place in the World.
On November 29th our annual christm￿ Fayre Iwl a record attendance with staIl4 activities for
and a visit from Sanla. Th¢ afternoon stsrted quietly but very qui¢kly we had a long queue frovn the
community waiting to get in- possibly a record turnout for the Pa￿.
All our special events proved successful EN)th financialty and welcoming many new faces from the
con]munity at large.

We view our chuTch building and halls as part of our mission in the l(Kal conllnunity. belping
group4 whether internal and extemal but with similar community aim& to establish and tbrive.
The community use of the Church Halls continued to grow throughout 2025 with active adv¢rtising
via banners on our church wall and on our website and S￿la1 All users have rewrted an
increase in participation.
Fornied in the Park and Dow In their 83rd year the 4th Giffii(Kk Guides are still going strong.
The Park Ladies Group and Park Bible Study group continue to offer time for reflection and sociali5ing.
Fonned in 1954. Cathcart Che&s Club 15 one of the oldest and largest chess units in Scotland with
members from the ¢hur¢h and local community and ￿1th a junior club teaching section with 60 pupils
recrutted from all the local schools 2nd over 40 on the waiting lisL
Mccarthy Dance School is well established in the Clarkston and Giffi)(Kk area with closses at 3 local
churches. They meet on two days at the Park and last year ¢omW in a competition in Florida
As with other groups their leaders and memkrs assist in our community events.
Fornied as the community choir in 1968 with memb￿$ from all the churche5 of whatever denomination
and now under their Ukrainian Choir master, Oksana Mavr(Mlii, E*s¢wood Cboir p￿tIC¢S on Monday
in the Church and held a very successful carol concert in the PaTk in December. Oksana was ttlso
instrumentsl in setting up the Ukrainian Culture progrgmme which meets in our halls on Saturday
afternoons. Publicised tn th¢ press and on the frlevision this progr8mm¢ and our assistance continues
to be very important as the war goes into its 5th year.
Also on the music scene we host Alzbeimer Scotland's Musical Minds Fast Renfrewshire 00 the first
Tuesday of each tDonth and Joe Wilson's Guitar Classes every Thursday.
After 204 years, Alison Richardson's keep fit classes continue to help many in the church and community
to retain their fitncss levels. So to is the Monday Club with sewin& knitting etc on the menu.
The Park Mother and Toddler Group continues to welcome new members attracted to our very safe
environment with "Moth¢r" thougb often now Father, Granthllother or Grdndfather! Older children
"teenagers" find a place in our "5 to 7 club" on Satsrdays. A more recent group. the Eastwood Art
Club, is now well settled in church life with its m¢mlKrs tsking part in our church events.
In the wider Church, members of the Park Church sit on Presbytery committees.
In 2025 The Park Church continued to b¢ r¢pres¢nted by three Street Pastors to catry out support Work
in th¢ city ¢¢ntre streets of Glasgow.
Worthwhile charities hav¢ been supported thr￿out the year and donations are regularty made to
the Carnwadric Church Helping Hands F(x)dbanl to the Childrens Hospices across Scotlan
to the E&stwood Dementi4 to the Royal National Lifel)oat Institutc, to the Samaritan's Purse. to
Christian Aid, to the Lodging House Mission. to Glasgow Street Pastors and to the SSAFA arn]ed forces
charity.
In 2025, 5 faithfiil members passed away and we had I memi*r trdll5fer to the PaTk Church. At
December 2025 the roll now stands at 154.
FinaD¢ial Summa
The Finance Committee Iwks after the financial aspects of the Church and 15 ¢haircd by
our Treasurer, Peter Watson. In 2025. The Park Church recorded an overall dcficit of £4.043
and with an incr￿¢ in the value of our iDve5tments of £1,610. the Funds of the Church have
decreased from £58.305 at the start of the year to £55.912 at the year end.

The Benevolenl Flower and Youth Funds are h¢ld for sp¢¢ific purp)ses and are adequafr
for immediate requirements. The PaTk Mission F￿￿ was set up in 2021 following
donor's wish¢s to provide funds to rnise the profile of the church in the local community
and help increase our mem¢mlxrship.
The Fabric and Reserve Fund is held to mc¢t major items of rq)air or capitsl expenditure
identified by the Presbytery or the Church Session.
The General Fund is the amount to smooth out fluctuations in incom¢ and expcnditurc.

Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (&8 amended)

Church of Scotland in 2016. They are also reswnsible for safeguarding the assets of the Church
and must take reasonable steps for the prevention an(Vor detection of fraud and other irregularities.

I report on th¢ accounts of the clwity, for the year ended 3 1st December 2025, which are set out on
pages 7t0 11.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's tnlstees are responsible for the prepardtion of the accounts in accordance wkth the ternls of
the Clwities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland)
Regulations 2006.
The charity trustees consid¢r that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts
Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section
44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent er4miDer's statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation I l of the ChaTities Accounts (Scotland)
Regulations 2(M)6 (as amended). An examination includes a teview of the accounting records kept by the
charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of
any Un￿Ual Étems or disclosures in the accounts, and S￿kS explanations from the trustees concerning ally
such matters. The proCedU￿S undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in a
audiL and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner's statement
In the course of my examination. no matter h&s come to my attention
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material res￿ the requirements:
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44 (1) (a) of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 4 of the 2006 (as amended) Accounts Regulations, and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation
9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations (as amended) have not Ixen meL or

of the accounts to be reached.
