Structure, Governance and Management
Governing Document
The Church is administered in a¢¢ordance with the teTms of the Model Deed of Constitution.
Recruitmettt and AppoiDtment of Trustees
Members ofthe Kirk Session and ihe COng￿gatIOnal Board are ihe charity truslees.
The Kirk Session members are the elders of the church and arc chosen from thosc members of the church
who are considered to have the appropriate gifts and skills. The minisier. who is a member of the Kirk
Session, is elected by the Congregation and inducted by PresbJ1ery. The Congregational Board is
appointed from wiihin the congiegalion and members of the congregalion are invited to nominaie
individuals who are believed ￿ have the skills and comrnitment to contribute lo the management affairs
of the Church. to become memètrs of the Board. Board Mcmbers are then appoinied at the Stated Annual
Mecting and serve for a period of three years after which ihey must seek re-eleciion at thc n¢.¥t Stalcd
Annual Meeling. Session MemE¢rs are automatically membeTS of ihe Board
OrganlsatloD41 Structure
The Congregational fjoard is currenily chaired by the Interim Modcrator and meets nine times a year.
Certain responsibilities are delegated 10 the Finan¢¢ Committee and the Property Committee as
appropriate.
Thc Kirk Session also chaired by the Inlerim Moderator meets nine times a year and is responsible for
spiritual affairs wiihin the church. The Locum Minister also attends Ix)th meetings when available.
Objectives and Activities
The Church of Scotland is Trinilarian in d¢xlrine, Refomied in tradition and Presbyterian in poliTh.. It
exists to glorify Gi)d and io work for th¢ advancement of Chrisi's Kingdom throughoul the world. As a
national Church, il acknowledges a distinctive call and duty to bring the ordinance% of religion to the
people in every parish of Scotland through a territorial ministy. It cfroperates with other Churches in
various ecumenical bodies in Scoiland and twond.
The objectives and activitics summarised below are those thal usually take place.
The Congregation gathers for worship on a Sunday at I1.15am. During the diet of worship our SundaN'
School meets.
During the week the followin8 meet in chuwh prernises (Halls & Church.)
On a Monday there is the Dawn Fraser School ofDance bringing in children from the communilj.
On ihe I st and 3rd Tuesday Mornings of each month (excepting July and August) our Cofyee club meeis
and is a focal point for ￿0P1¢ from within the village and for visilors to the local area.
On a Tuesday Evening there is a Line Dancing C1&55 which drdws from within and outside the local
community.
On Wednesday rnornings Jo Dance Fit cl&sses are held.
On Thursday evenings Yoga classes are held
On Friday morning5 Pilates classes are held.
Organizations from the Community are welcorne to the Hall. donating whai they can to cover heating
and lighting if thev &qn afford this.

Throughout the year special services are held which include World Day of Prayer and Palm Sunday
Evening where 6 local churches all Come together. and throughout Holy Week services are held each
evening.
Christmas Eve services. Remcmbrance Service and others as required are also held.
During times of Bereavement the church is availablc for families.
Christmas Coffee morning.
Ai Easter wc hold a coffee morning on the Saiurday, and on Easter Sunday we meet in the l(Kal park for
some fellowship and an egg rolling competition which is thoroughly enjoyed by both L)Id and young.
This is followed by brcakfast in the hall and ihen the Easter Family Service. All ar¢ welcome to aftend.
Achievements and Performance
The various groups using the hall continued and a new Yoga group Started in January. The Church Hall was
also US￿ for birthday parties and community aciivity on several (Kcasion4 including Stirling Carers.
In February we held a Valentines Soup & Sweet Lunch after Sunday Church Service. Our Tuesday Cofree
morning club conlinued. A very successful Easter coffee morning was held and on Easier Sunday we met in
the park for worship and egg rolling followed by breakfast in the Church Hall prior to Sunday Service. All
these aclivities contribuled io raising funds and celebrating fellowship.
On the first Sunday each month, excluding July and AugusL a soup and filled roll lunch was held after the
service, all are welcome to slay behind and enjoy the lunch and fellowship.
In August we held a Tea Party in the hall which was open lo all and those WI￿ attended thoroughly enjoyed
the delicacies on offer.
The local Primary School Continues to hold services at the end of ierni ai Easier, Summer, and Christmas. The
children'5 families can, attend thes¢ seryices. and a greai nUrn￿r do.
As in previous years, our young Church engaged wilh Scrioure Union, thi$ year at E&81er and during the
July/Augusl holidays with a summer club hostrd jointly by the Allan and other local churches with children
from the community enjoying the varied programm¢ and their time together. Scripture Union also engaged
with pupils from the local High and Primary Schoo15 with this being very su¢ces5ful.
As in previous years. the exterior of the Church was lit to draw attention to Trwious national events and
charilies ¢.g. International Epilepsy Awarenes4 Eas￿r, Remembrance etc.
Harvest ihanksgiving service wos held in (klober with donations received going to Stsrtup Stirling food
bank. A harvest lunch was also held after the morning service.
In October Murrayfield United FAEe Church kld a concert in the chU￿h Halls.
In Novemb￿ a special event of all things Scottish was held to celebrate St Andrews Day. Tableau were
created depicting Scottish heroes pasl and present and local hislory. Both himary Schools and our local High
School took part. Tr Church opened on Friday and Saturday and on the Saturday a lunch of Haggis,
neeps and tatties was cnjoyed by all.
As per nornial pra¢ti¢e, a Christmas tree was e￿¢ted, and lil in the Church Garden at the front of the Church.
and a stable depicting the birth of Jesus was aEso put in place in the garden.
A Gift Day on Sunday 22 December rdised fimds for the Children's Hospi¢¢ Association Scotland.
The Congr¢galion continues to supp)rt Startup Stirling up through donations of fixMI (weekly collection).

During the yeay, Ihe Board has continued to work on the upkeep of the Church. Halls and Manse, the major
items b¢ing repairs to the kitchen roof, stained glass window ￿paIrs, Ihe firting of protectives sheet on Church
windows and a complete replacement wooden fence around the back garden of the Manse.
Essential maintenance and upkeep was undertaken in the Churc14 Halls and gardens and we continue to use
recycling bins for garden waste, batteries, paper. card and iins throughoul the church premises, a5 well as
using our Clothing Bank donation bin to get the village involved with T￿yClIng which in tum raises funds for
the Church.
Financial Review
The principle source of incorne is through members Dir￿1 Ikbit Mandate to the Church cur￿nt a￿OUn[
this is added to by We¢kly Free Will Offering Envelop¢s and through the Open Plate. A number of
members have signed Gift Aid fornis and regular claims are made for the retum of tax payable.
Total receipls for 2024, are up overall on 2023, due Inc￿35¢$ in inierest paid on deposits. investment
distributions, rentalluse of the halls and a slight Incre￿ in member contributions. 'foial pavments in
2024 are up considerably on 2023 due primarily io fabric expenditure. increased giving to grow and
ministerial cosls and sharp increase in utilily costs.

2. Consolidated Fabric Fund (generated from p￿VIouS Mansc Rental) used io contribuie to annual
Insurance costs. Manse or Church Fabric requ7￿Ments only.
l.'urther investmenis in the Church of Scoiland Investors Trusl Growth and Income Funds conlinue to be
put in place by re-investment of distributions paid from these ￿ndS and investhient of any legacy funds
received where appropriale.
Reserves Pollcy
'The reserves policy is under constanl review and in view of the age of the Church building. il is the
Trustee's policy lo hold as a minimum, reserves of bctween nine and tsvelve months expenditure,
includin8 designated funds whenever possible. At the year end the Church held:

£5210.13 General Account.
£5,112.59 d¢signaled for Fabric.
£279.96 designated for Sunday School.
£17,814.26 designated for identified Projects.
£16,821.94 designated for General Congregational Purposes.
Restricted cash funds of 9153.29 of which:
£7,230.46 designated for Sieeple.
£1.938.98 Consolidated Fabric Fund.
Investments with a market value of £51.796.46 at 31 Dec 24 are also in place additional to the above
deposits, these are set &8ide for the long-temi needs of the ChU￿h.
