The Orkney Talking Newspaper is set up to record and distribute recordings of the weekly newspaper, 'The Orcadian' to those people who are either blind or partially sighted or have any other disability which makes it difficult to read, living both in Orkney and further afield.

Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people','Older People','People with disabilities or health problems'

Objectives: 4.1 To record local (Orkney) news and information in a range of formats and to provide the facility of this recorded material to persons living within or outwith Orkney who are registered blind, partially sighted or labouring under some temporary or permanent incapacity which makes reading a strain. 4.2 To co-ordinate volunteers to undertake the preparing, reading, and recording of published information and the delivery of the same to members.
