The audience participated in a few well known carols as usual. Our spring concert took place on the 17" May 2025 with a performance of Dvorak’s Requiem with organ as well as a number of shorter pieces by Brahms, Bruckner and Charles Wood with piano.
In February, we discovered that the society had been left a legacy by a former member 2: a long time member, before she had to retire due to ill health. It turned out to be a large amount which was gratefully received.
Trustee remuneration and expenses
The trustees did not receive any remuneration (a requirement of the constitution). They received in total £0 reimbursement of expenses incurred wholly on behalf of the Society.
Financial review
There was a deficit for 2024/25 of £4184.58 however this was off-set by the legacy, so that in cash terms we are left with cash reserves at the end of the year were £27482.03. This puts us ina good position for 2025/26. Funds must be applied towards the furtherance of the objectives of the Society but are otherwise unrestricted.
