Our Christmas concert took place on the 14" December 2024 in the Cathedral. We were delighted to be joined by the Co-operation Bank with brass and percussion. The programme consistedbeen lost forofIa number of years.Vine ThereHost, werethe scorealso afornumber which ofhas otherrecentlyChristmasbeen piecesrecreatedandhavingcarols with the band. The audience participated in a few well known carols as usual. Our spring concert took place on the 17" May 2025 with a performance of Dvorak’s Requiem with organ as well as a number of shorter pieces by Brahms, Bruckner and Charles Wood with piano.

In February, we discovered that the society had been left a legacy by a former member 2: a long time member, before she had to retire due to ill health. It turned out to be a large amount which was gratefully received.

Trustee remuneration and expenses

The trustees did not receive any remuneration (a requirement of the constitution). They received in total £0 reimbursement of expenses incurred wholly on behalf of the Society.

Financial review

There was a deficit for 2024/25 of £4184.58 however this was off-set by the legacy, so that in cash terms we are left with cash reserves at the end of the year were £27482.03. This puts us ina good position for 2025/26. Funds must be applied towards the furtherance of the objectives of the Society but are otherwise unrestricted.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Glasgow Cathedral Choral Society

| report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 June 2025.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s statement

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent examiner’s statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

have not been met, or to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
