**What the charity does:** Stranraer & Rhins of Galloway Agricultural Society is responsible for running Stranraer Show. a one day Agricultural Show which has been held in the area for over 175 years.  The event celebrates all that is great about rural South West Scotland and provides a shop window for farmers and livestock breeders as well as a wide variety of rural businesses, food producers, artists and craftworkers.  There is also a wide variety of entertainment to ensure the event appeals to a wide ranging audience and ensures an excellent day out for everyone in the community.  It plays a key role in educating the general public about rural life and the agricultural sector.

**Objectives:** 3. The Main Objects for which the Company is incorporated are for: (a) the advancement of agriculture. (b) the improvement of agricultural livestock. (c) the furtherance of livestock husbandry. (d) the promotion of those connected with the rearing of Cattle and other Stock. (e) to undertake (a) - (d) primarily within the Stranraer & Rhins of Galloway District but not exclusively. (f) the support, as may be found practicable, of such Societies, Associations and Funds existing for the benefit of Agriculture.
