The purpose of the charity is to delight and inspire curiosity in Dundee's heritage by reaching out to the community and welcoming visitors who wish to explore the heritage of the Polar explorers and of the local industrial powerhouse of Dundee. This is achieved by welcoming curious visitors from around the globe, and more locally, hosting school visits to encourage the next generation of museum goers and to develop interest in the environmental work that was carried out over 100 years ago in the Antarctic.

Objectives: The organisation’s purpose is the guardianship, preservation, and portrayal of Dundee’s heritage in ways that educate, inspire, and enlighten current and future generations.
