STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE
In term5 of the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts
(Scotlandl Regulations 2006, the Vestry reports to the congregation as follows..
St Clement's Scottish Episcopal Church, Aberdeen is a re8lStered Scottish Charity
ISC0021521.
It is a member of the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney of the Scottish Episcopal Church
and is in full communion with the Anglican Communion.
The superior aL¢thority is the Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney.
All its affairs are governeil by Vestry
Appointment ofvestry Members
Vestry members are elected or appointed by Annual General Meeting established by constitution and
under Canon Law of the Scottssh Episcopal Church. There is no formal induction programme but
ongoing guidance is given to ensure that Vestry members are familiar with the Church's values, aims
and responsibilities as the designated trustees of the charity.
All vestry members remain the same from last year. Nobody was required to stand again and there
were no further requests to join the vestry. We intend to continue with the present vestry for this
year.
Administrative Strurture
It is the duty of the Vestry to mana6e the temporal affairs of the congregation with responsibility to
keep the fabric and property of the church and other buildings in good working order and to look after
the finances of the church. Bishop Anne is the curate's Training Incumbent, in addition to being the
Rector.
Statement of Risk
The Vestry keep5 under review the major risks to which the church is exposed and has established
procedures to mitigate any risks identified. The quinquennial review of the buildinES was carried out
during the preceding year, and a work programme agreed to meet the review recommendations.
There was no urgent priority work required to be carried out.
Volunteers
The Vestry is grateful for the time freely given by a large number of volunteers, without whom many
activities would be unable to operate. Volunteers for our holiday lunch club came from our own
congregation and also from the congregation of St Devenick's in Bieldside. We are grateful for their
support.
Charitable Activitie5
The main activities were to undertake Christian worship and education. for the benefit of the
tongregation and the local community. A service is held each Sunday mornirbg.
An additional expense continued this year being the repair and restoration of the Lady Chapel
Tapestry to her former glory. In the current year we received a grant of £2,IJXJ towards the
restoration costs.

l The Church at Mastrick Drive 15 owned by St Clement's Vestry. A valuation has not been included in the
Statement of 8alances, as in the opinion of the Vestry, the cost of a professional valuation would be
disproportionate to the benefit gained by users of the accounts. This practite is in line with the
treatment of buildings valuation throughout the Diocese.
The valuation of the building- assessed by our insurers- for insurance purpose5 is £2,800,000.
