Sound Community Association maintains and manages Sound Public Hall in order to provide facilities to benefit the local community. This is achieved by hire of the hall to members of the community for life events, and fund raising activities organised by the association.

Objectives: (i) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Sound, Lerwick, Shetland without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the local and statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of inproving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants . (ii) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a community hall for activities promoted by the Company in furtherance of the above objects or any of them. Where the said community hall is provided or grant aided by the local authority to co-operate with that authority in the maintenance and managment of the community hall, for activities in furtherance of the above objects or any of them. The Company shall be non party in politics and non sectarian in religion.
