Pastor’s Report 2026

| write this report as the retired pastor of Broomhill Community Church, having Officially retired in June 2025. Despite my retirement | continue to officiate over the building until the sale has been completed. The building is due to be demolished and redeveloped into social housing, and to this end we are working closely with Marshall Construction Limited, the Wheatley Group, and Mast Architects. As things stand, we are waiting for some clarifications on the contract, and once cleared up an official offer will be made to Broomhill Community Church. In the meantime, and until the date of transfer is agreed, we will continue to have shared services with the Living God Church. Once the property transfer has been completed the church bank account will be closed and Broomhill Community Church will officially cease to operate. It is our intention to distribute the capital as follows: All outstanding bills will be paid, including the repayment of £50,000, loaned to us by the district church. For the past year our congregation have been supporting a Nazarene pastor and his ministry in Malawi, and we hope to donate a further £40,000 to build a church for them in Malawi. All remaining funds will be passed to the Nazarene District Church to use at their discretion.

This is my twenty-fifth, and last, annual Pastors Report. | write this final report with some regrets, of course, as | am disappointed that our ministry in the West End of Glasgow will come to an end. This church has served in this area for over 120 years it will be very sad to see that adventure end. | cannot even begin to express the depth of my appreciation to Alan and Biba Brand for their support, guidance, wisdom and friendship, without which | doubt we would have made it this far. My thanks also goes to Marie, for her support and often thought-provoking questions in our bible studies. | wish also to express my sincere thanks to Alan, in his role as Church Secretary. To Carol in her role as Church Treasurer, whose contribution are why the doors have remained open thus far, and as my wife, best friend and confidant, without whom none of this adventure would have been possible, my thanks to her is boundless.

And, of course, | thank God, for allowing me the privilege of being part of this amazing experience, here at Broomhill Community Church of the Nazarene.

Respectfully submitted

Pastor Robert White

Secretary report: 2025/26

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens, a time to plant and a time to uproot... a time to tear down and a time to build... a time to weep and a time to laugh...(Ecclesiastes 3 v 1,2,3 and 4)

On a personal level it has been a great honour for me to serve at Broomhill community church of the Nazarene. The journey over these last ten years has been a rich season for my personal walk with God where the influence of Pastor Robert made me more open to serve God and the church and God has richly blessed my efforts.

Over the last year Broomhill has continued to be a place of worship, fellowship, discipleship and warmth for our congregation and | am forever grateful to Pastor Robert for leading us in our bible study and the lively discussion that follows where the input of everyone, Robert, Carol, Biba and Marie allows us to ask important questions as we work out our faith with honesty, kindness, grace and an openness that allows God to shine through.

We can’t overstate the importance of the excellent stewardship of all church accounts by Carol “like the jar of oil that will not run dry and the flour that will not run out” 1 Kings 17 v 16. She has kept our church not just afloat but vibrant and we are very grateful for all that you have done on our behalf. Pastor Robert has delivered excellent stewardship and under his guidance we have enjoyed an exciting journey of faith and fellowship, he has also cultivated a wonderful working relationship with the New life church and at the same time provided them with inspiration and continual support.

My thanks also to Biba and Mary for their contribution to the life of the Church they’re questions and insight have been of great value to the whole group and make the bible study such a wonderful experience.

A time to tear down

Our Church building has represented a place of inspiration and a place of challenge, the number of repairs carried out even in my time there are immeasurable and regretfully the building must close. Our hope to leave a legacy of social housing in the place of our beloved church are well under way.

And a time to build

As well as supporting the work in Broomhill we have also been supportive of a Nazarene mission in Malawi and our church board have made the decision to support the building of a new Nazarene church in Malawi with some of the proceeds of the sale of Broomhill, all of the remaining funds will support the local district Nazarene Church an we are very grateful to be in a position to offer this type of financial support.

A time to weep and a time to laugh

As | write my final church secretary report | feel the weight of sorrow as| anticipate the loss of my spiritual home, but | approach this time a much stronger Christian than the one who walked through the doors on that first occasion in 2012 and| feel held up by the strength of the friendship, discipleship, grace, warmth and honesty that have created a wonderful spiritual home for all of us in Broomhill.
