To preserve and conserve the local social and indusrial history related tothe lead mining industry. To educate the general public. Undertaken through the museum and guided tours plus involvement with local schools and specialist groups.

Objectives: 4 The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: 4.1 To advance the education of the general public, without distinction of sex or political, religious, or other options, by provision of a local heritage social history museum, comprising a curated Collection of historical artefacts, together with such other objects, specimens or collections as may, from time to time, be acquired. 4.2 to promote the local history and cultural traditions of the former lead mining community of Wanlockhead. 4.3 to provide for the protection and preservation of the historical artefacts comprised in the Collection from deterioration, damage, loss, accidental destruction or unauthorised disposal
