The purposes of the Trust are the advancement of the knowledge and appreciation of music, opera and drama and to encourage the growth of musical talent of persons resident in Scotland and activities of operatic and musical organisations of Scotland and particulary in Galashiels.

Objectives: The fundamental object of the Trust shall be to hold the Trust Fund in perpetuity as a charitable fund for the advancement of the knowledge and appreciation of music, opera and drama and to encourage the growth and devlopment of musical talent in the manner prescribed in the Trust Purposes hereinafter written.
