Trustees Annual Report October 31 2024/25

Since last year we have completed the Roof Insulation, and then we have been fully occupied with grant applications, quotes from Contractors, Planning Applications and project management. 

We are proud to list the renovations we have made to our village hall: 

**-** Interior decoration to the main hall, including thermal curtain linings 

**-** Changing all lighting to LED 

**-** Updating the remaining electric radiators 

**-** Replacing the old front door and screen with double glazing and superior grade timber. 

**-** The entire Roof has been completely renovated. 

**-** Solar PV panels and Batteries are installed on the new roof, and we are awaiting full approval to sell excess solar power back to the National Grid. We are already saving money on electricity, and reducing our Carbon consumption from all of these improvements. 

We are grateful for Grants from: 

Central Borders Federation of Village Halls 

The Scottish Government Decarbonisation of Community Buildings Fund, managed by Borders Community Action 

CARES - Local Energy Scotland 

The National Lottery Community Fund 

For these projects we received over £40,000. 

I’m also very pleased to say that bookings for the Hall are continuing to grow in number. We have regular lets from our Quilters, Triple Peaks Community Cinema, Spanish Lessons, Maths Tuition, Syrinx Flutes, Pilates and Salsa dancing as well as a variety of other activities and events throughout the year.
