Activities and Achievements
Two fundraising events were held during the year to 31% December 2025; The Burns Night Ceilidh in January raised £454.88 and the Summer Gala day in June raised £1234.64.
The trustees applied for and were gifted a grant by SSE Griffin Calliachar Community Fund of £25,000 and this enabled the installation of 59 photovoltaic (PV) panels with battery storage, which has significantly reduced the electricity costs.
The hall also purchased a container and large stretch tent for the local school and sports groups to use during the Summer months and to accommodate the growing request for weddings, all which help towards the rental income generated to assist with the for day to day running of the hall.
The hall was available for hire all year and bookings were steady with a 39% increase on bookings from the previous year with regular bookings from Grandtully Primary School, Aberfeldy District JAC and Water Rescue.
Social media is being utilised to promote the hall and hire opportunities to the local and wider community, with hall’s domain name linking to the Facebook page.
Other than hire income and the SEE grant, the association benefited from an admin grant from Perth & Kinross Council of £500.
Interest of £4000.39 was generated in the Nationwide Savings Account and a decision was made to move the savings into a higher variable rate fund with Hampshire Trust Bank. Funds for day-to day banking are held in the Bank of Scotland current account.
Total income for 2025 (including grants) was £50,029.42, which covered the essential running and maintenance costs and contributed towards the purchase of the solar panels, stretch tent and container. Total expenditure for the year was £52,694.83, leaving a deficit of £2665.41 but with significant additional assets added to the hall valued at £36,229.17.
Electricity costs were a major monthly expense however this is now reduced thanks to the solar panels and batteries that became functional in late Summer.
Hire charges were reviewed in December 2025 for new bookings moving into 2026 to ensure running and maintenance costs are being met by hire income and fundraising events.
The trustees continue to invest to meet regulations, ensure safety of users and to improve the utility and attractiveness of the hall while also controlling running costs.
Trustee Renumeration and Expenses
Other than out of pocket expenses the trustees did not receive any renumeration during the year.
