Cramond Primary School Parent Teacher Association

Annual Report and Accounts for the Year Ended 31 March 2025

Independent Examiner’s Report To the Committee Members of the Cramond Primary School Parent Teacher Association

Scottish Charity Number SC000709

I report on the accounts of the Cramond Primary School Parent Teacher Association for the year ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on pages 3 to 8.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s statement

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

Independent examiner’s statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

  2. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and

  3. to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations

have not been met, or

  1. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Activities and Achievements

The Association has had a successful year. The main achievement for the year was the completion of a number of fundraising events, which generated a current year surplus of £5,623 for the year.

The fund raising activities during 2024-25, included the traditional movie night/Christmas Fayre and Halloween Disco. The events were again well attended and provided a good opportunity for pupils and families to socialise together.

The Association was able to contribute £2,584 to Cramond Primary School. Cramond Primary School used these funds for buses to the panto for the children and garden maintenance. In addition, the Association gave £451 to fund sports kit and sports equipment for after school sports clubs.

The Ski Club is self-financing and continues to be well attended throughout the year with pupils attending regular lessons, race training and competitions.

Committee Members’ Remuneration and Expenses

The Committee Members did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

Reserves

The reserves of the Association maintains a healthy surplus of £25,993 on the combined General PSA fund, 100 Club Fund and Ski Club Fund.

However these funds are split into £13,557 unrestricted and £12,436 restricted funds.

The balance of £12,436 on the Ski Club Fund is a working cash balance and this fund will continue to be self-financing.

Approved by the Committee Members and signed on their behalf.
