Objectives: After all my, debts legacies, &c. have been paid I desire that the remainder of my Estate be divided into two equal parts, one half to be place (sic) under a Trust consisting of the Ministers, ex officio of the Falkirk Parish Church, of the Grahamston, Parish Church, and of St Modan's Church and of one Elder of each Church, These six shall administer the Trust and distribute the free income from it in the following manner First One Hundred pounds shall be used yearly to increase the incomes ofeach of the three ministers, but this money is not to be considered as payment of their stipend but as an extra payment to what they are otherwise entitled to while acting as ministers to these Churches, The surplus of this Trust to be used for the benefit of the Poor of the Parish of Falkirk and to be administered by the ministers & their Elders. This money from this fund to be given without respect to creed, church, or profession but a reference to be given to old people and those who from infirmity are unable to work and more especially to bread - winners who may be temporarily disabled so as to assist in his or her recovery and return to work.
