Objectives: I direct my Trustees after the death of the said Reverend James Shepherd, to apply the free revenue or income of my said means and estate according to their own discretion for the benefit of gentlewomen resident in Aberdeen who fulfil these conditions,- (one) they must be widows or daughters of deceased merchants, shopkeepers or other men of business who resided in Aberdeen for at least twenty five years. and (two) their circumstances must be such that through no fault of their own they are in need of financial assistance to enable them to live in reasonable comfort, having regard to the social position they occupied or formerly occupied, and to any claims that may in my Trustees' opinion be incumbent on them for the suitable education of their children or otherwise.
