ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE We set out at the beglnnin8 of 2022 wtth ambitions that were very much con¢tmed wlth movlng forward in our bid to unlte wlth Wlllowbrae Church, with guldance from Dr. Stewart WeaveT, the convenor of the Ptesbytery ¢ornmlttee responsible for the Presbytery plan, and 5UPPOrted by our Interlm Moderator Rev. 8111 Wlshart. Our two assessor elder5.1sobel and Peter Grayi who has served as Session Clerk for almost slx years, 5food down at Ihe end of 2022 and Flona 8everid8e hès taken over as 5esslon aerk. Worshlp. Prayer and Blble Stu(ty As part of Tran51tion Mln15try, we had trled a dlfferent type of worshlp in November. December 2021. A 'Dlnner Church. format was targeted at people who mlght not be attracted to the more tradrtlonal seThlces-thls is where a very laT8e proportlon of the local populatlon ts in the 1840 a8e group. When govemment COVID restrictlon5 were relaxed we were able to offer a 'pllot' version of Dlnner Church to assess ihe format's vl•billtyand the level of re5pon5e with a very restricteA gatherln8 on a Wednesday evenln8 facllitated by Rev. -f r.T I')liclty. During 2022 the revlsed Presbytery plan, vthlch conflrmed the union of Meadowbank and Willowbrae leadln8 to a three-way unlon with Portobello and Joppa Parlsh Church has been finali5ed. The 'Basls of UnlDn' and 'Mission Narr¥tive' dKument5 have been deslgned resp(￿Oing to the 5 P•lnts of marks of mission and have been submltted for Piesbytery Scrutiny.

Erumenlcal & Communlty RelatlonsNps During COVID we were rather restricted In what It was posslble to do but we have hlstorlc connection5 to a number of nelghbourin8 churches that can be reconnerted. We have again 8iven our church 5￿ce to Abbeyhill Prlmary School for thelr Natlvitv Play and the church was almost full ￿th parents and ¢hSldren In attendance. The church space was agaln used as a polling statlon for local elections and a5 8 venue for choir ￿hearsalS and a Jazz COn￿rt In the Edinbur8h Ja21 Festival. d. New People and N•w 14lembers After losln8 our Transition Minister and our MDS sUPPOrt worker, arrangements for pulplt supply have meènt we have nevertheless been able to open the church for re8tslar Sunday worshlp and welcome members, frlends. lexal people and pa55ers-by to Meadowbank. Latterly we have Joined our friends fvom Wlllowtsrae at twlce monthly joint serv1￿5 In both churches altematety. We plan to extend the relatlonshlp with Abbeyhlll Prlmary Sthool later in 2023 In collaboration with Flschy Mu51G e. Cook aub This initiative has been maintalned due to a support team of volunteers from Meadowbank ènd Willowbrae. Cook Club had a1￿ut 12 people comin8 each Thursday to help make a meal together, eat together and share joy5 and sorrows. The mlx of members h35 been qulte ama2ing Whe￿ some are offering skills and others are very much in need of5UPPQrt, f. Bulldln85 We continue to keep the church and hall coffylex In 8ood order arnl the varlous Services compliant. Significant roof repairs and maintenance have been undertaken In 2022 and further maintenance to the boller and repalrto dI￿'tal projectlon system was underlèken. The garden at the front of the churth has been restocked with scented plants and 2 garden benches have been repainted and fi'xed in place. The church Manse has been sold arKt new owners will move in on January6 2023. The Law department at 121 were extremely helpful In assistin8 Wlth the sale. FUTURE PLANS 2023 wlll be a pivotal year followin8 on from Transltlon Mlnlstry that, over the past 4 years, ha5 been very much about experlmentHtlon and findlng the best ways to relate to the bcal community. A reduction in paid staff now means that much more is demanded of Sesslon and the con8re8atlon. On-8olng joint Se￿l¢eS. shailn8 of church news and Invilaiion to events a deslgned to make the proposed union wlth Willowbrae as smooth as possible. Deci51on5 5tlll have to be made con¢ernin8 buildings but we hope for a new entity and a new wider Team Mlnistry In 2023.
