**What the charity does:** This community group has been in existence since 1970 with membership drawn locally Our constitution is based on two aims: • To support the history of Brechin • To promote the built heritage of Brechin We respond to requests for financial support and the trustees scrutinise these to ensure they are in line with our constitution. We have supported the ongoing development work of the Caledonian Railway which continues to flourish as a major tourist destination in Angus. We have had a partnership with the local secondary school, Brechin High School to award a bursary to support pupils whilst undertaking study at undergraduate or post graduate level. Senior pupils submit piece of work when making an application for a bursary and is considered by trustees to ensure it is in line with our constitution. We believe this has encouraged pupils to take an interest in their own town. We work closely with the Mechanics Institute trustees and support each other's work.
