A minimum of 4 Trustee committee members are required to enable the committee to take decisions.

## **Membership**

## **Key objectives, purposes and activities**

The purpose of the Association (the Purposes) is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by: Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school; Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

## **Activities undertaken for public benefit**

In planning the activities of the charity for the year the Trustees have continuously had regard to the full statutory guidance to the Charity Commission’s public benefit requirement when exercising any powers or duties to which it is relevant. From client feedback the charity’s activities have helped it achieve its purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.

At the AGM held on 30[th] September 2025 the outgoing Chairman, Andrew Cousins commented:

“I’d like to begin by taking a moment to reflect on the 2024/25 academic year, which was another very successful one for Dundonald PS. Together as a school community, we managed to raise valuable funds, but more importantly, we also saw those funds – along with continued investment from the school itself – turned into resources and facilities that directly benefit our children.

Whilst not all were as a direct result of the PTA some highlights include that are worth mentioning as examples of the investment Dundonald PS gives to our children include:

- The opening of the new school library – a truly wonderful space that will inspire and support pupils for years to come.

- The arrival of our school chickens, which created real excitement and brought extra energy to the outdoor and forest school activities.

- The addition of a much-needed 3G sports facility, giving our children more opportunities to enjoy PE and sport in all weathers.

- And finally, the fantastic increase in after-school clubs, widening the opportunities available for our pupils.

Dundonald Primary School PTA Trustees’ Report and Financial Statement for the year ended 31 August 2025

All of this takes commitment and effort behind the scenes, so I want to put on record to thank not just Mr Massey & Mrs Burns, but also the wider school team and all the parents, whose combined hard work ensures that Dundonald Primary School continues to thrive.”

## **Role of volunteers**

These financial statements set out the results for the year but do not reflect the very considerable and vital support given to the Dundonald Primary School PTA by volunteers. These volunteers help to run the charity, fundraise, and support the school with the day to day operations of the charity. With the charity operated on a voluntary basis there is no private benefit flowing from its key objectives and purposes. The charity is fully appreciative of the efforts of all its willing volunteers.

## **Achievements and activities**

The benefit of all children at Dundonald Primary School is at the heart of the charity’s objectives and purposes and none of its activities and services are deemed harmful. The direct benefits are the improvement of school facilities for the benefit of the pupils, ultimately seeking to lead to enhanced educational outcomes for the pupils. The achievement of this goal can be identified by the physical presence of specific assets within the school, purchased by the PTA for the benefit of the pupils. In 2024/25 he charity contributed to funding the refurbishment of the school library during the period and also contributed to organising and funding the P7 leavers disco.

## **Financial Review**

The charity didn’t have any Restricted Funds or Endowment Funds to account for during the financial year ended 31 August 2023.

- The Opening Balance of the charity’s General Unrestricted Fund at 1[st] September 2023 was £8,928.85 credit and the closing Balance at the financial year end 31[st] August 2025 was £24,681.31 credit.

Fundraising expenditure for the financial year was £12,758.84.

The charity is operated purely on a volunteer basis and is grateful to all who have willingly provided their services and assistance throughout the year. At the financial year end, and in line with its current general policy, the charity had no liabilities outstanding and was debt free.

## **Future Plans**

Financially the charity will:

- Continue to monitor the level of donations received

- Consider options to raise additional funds through various grant aid possibilities

- Continue to prudently maintain its operating expenses at acceptable levels.
