Annual Report 2024/25

20[th] June 2024 We offer warmest congratulations to Alan Moore OBE TD DL on his appointment as Ukraine’s Honorary Consul for Northern Ireland and look forward to working closely with him.

25[th] July 2024 , the semifinal of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship took place between the national teams of Ukraine and France in Windsor Park, Belfast. In his capacity as the Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland, Alan Moore and members of "Ukrainians in NI Ltd" attended the match to support the Ukrainian team, joining many of the Ukrainian community living in Northern Ireland.

25[th] August 2024, the annual multicultural festival Belfast MELA took place in Belfast. During the festival, representatives of the Ukrainian community in Northern Ireland had the honor to meet and talk with First Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA, Junior Minister Aisling Reilly MLA, Junior Minister Pam Cameron MLA, Dr. Nisha Tandon OBE (founder and CEO of ArtsEkta), as well as with Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Northern Ireland Alan Moore OBE TD DL.

In honor of Independence Day, volunteers of our organization and guests of the Ukrainian tent created the “Chain of Unity” as a symbol of support and unwavering faith in the victory and happy future of the Ukrainian people.

6[th ] September 2024 ERANO centre hosted event inviting Ukrainian community from across Enniskillen and Omagh to an evening with the Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland, Mr. Alan Moore, OBE TD DL and chairman of "Ukrainians in NI Ltd" Oleg Shenkaruk at the ERANO centre in Omagh .

We express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and attended this event: ERANO centre and Mary Lafferty; Mr John Claughery, the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Graham Dodds – the head of the PSNI Road Policing Branch and His Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenant of County Tyrone, MBE – for his assistance in coordinating of this meeting.

17[th] September 2024 the Ukrainians in Northern Ireland Charity accompanied by the Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland Mr. Alan Moore, OBE TD DL were delighted to meet Mr Mike Nesbitt Minister of Health in Northern Ireland to brief the Minister on the group’s work and also to thank the Minister and his staff for their ongoing support to the Ukrainian community throughout Northern Ireland.

23d September 2024 The Ukrainians in Northern Ireland were delighted to learn of today’s meeting between Alan Moore, Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland with General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in London today to discuss a number of important areas of co-operation between Ukraine and Northern Ireland.

On 14-15 November 2024 the consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh provided consular service to citizens of Ukraine in Northern Ireland for the third time. This became possible thanks to the close cooperation of the “Ukrainians in NI LTD” with the Consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Northern Ireland and Ulster University.

28[th] November 2024 The Ukrainians in Northern Ireland were honoured to meet with the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland the Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP at a reception for the Honorary Consul of Ukraine at Hillsborough Castle.

29[th] November 2024 The Ukrainians in Northern Ireland were honoured to meet with the Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council, Councillor Lilian Seenoi Barr, at a reception for Mr Alan Moore OBE TD DL in celebration of his appointment as the Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland. The reception was held on Friday 29th November 2024 in the Guildhall and was attended by members of the Ukrainian community in addition to representatives of the business community, Ulster University and the North West Regional College.

3d January 2025 Following a beautiful Christmas tradition, our Ukrainian carolers visited Ukrainian families across Northern Ireland with carols and New Year greetings, sharing joy, warmth, and a heartfelt sense of home. Thank you all for donations of £500

13[th] January 2025 The Chairman and representatives of the Ukrainians in Northern Ireland Charity were delighted to finalise negotiations with a Northern Ireland Government Department for the procurement of a redundant high spec Land Rover Discovery which will be exported to Ukraine to facilitate the medical retrieval and evacuation of severely wounded casualties from the battlefield in Eastern Ukraine.

28[th] January 2025 The Chairman and representatives of the Ukrainians in Northern Ireland Charity were delighted to take receipt of a redundant ambulance from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) which will shortly be exported to Ukraine to facilitate the medical retrieval and evacuation of severely wounded casualties from the front line in Eastern Ukraine.

23d February2025 We held a Peaceful Event beside The Belfast City Hall to mark the 3rd anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Our goals were:

– emphasize on the topic of continuous genocide of Ukrainians in every occupied city and village; – draw attention to the deaths of the civilian population, including innocent children, women, and the elderly. – to express our gratitude to the people of Northern Ireland for their hospitality and support

Thanks to your generous donations, the charity has raised £849 to procure medical and humanitarian aid. Your contributions will make a significant impact in saving lives in Ukraine’s war zones.

9[th] April 2025 Directors “Ukrainians in Northern Ireland LTD” Oleg Shenkaruk, Alina Zaruba and Kateryna Zaychick visited Newry Town Hall, which held a performance by two young Ukrainian actresses and playwrights. We are supported them and had some mitings with other people.

19[th] April 2025 A huge thank you to everyone who joined our Easter gathering at The Jethro Centre, Lurgan.

We’re truly grateful to everyone who helped organise the event, supported us, brought delicious food, and simply came to share this day with us. It was a joyful and heartwarming afternoon filled with smiles, Ukrainian traditions and new connections.

23d April 2025 One of charity directors Victiriia Kovtun and her son had a meeting with students of Portadown College. They had a short discussion about Ukraine .A heartfelt thank you to Portadown College, its dedicated staff, and wonderful students for their generous support of our charity. We are grateful for the £150 donation.

4[th] May 2025 .Relay team “Ukrainians in Northern Ireland LTD” took part in the 2025 Belfast City Marathon . Our goals were:

Huge thanks to our marathon runners: Kateryna Bidolenko, Lauren McGeown, Dr Volodymyr Shentsov, Alan Moore OBE DL (Honorary consul of Ukraine in Northern Ireland), Dr Vitaliy Ostropytskyy – who ran combined 42.2 km (26.2 miles)

On 15-16 May 2025, Consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh provided consular service to citizens of Ukraine in Northern Ireland for the fourth time. This became possible thanks to the close cooperation of the Ukrainian community in Northern Ireland with the Consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Northern Ireland and Ulster University.

1[st] June 2025 A Land Rover Discovery from a Northern Ireland Government Department will be exported to Ukraine to facilitate the medical retrieval and evacuation of severely wounded casualties in Ukraine and will be transported there in the coming days.

6[th] June 2025 Meeting with the Community Outreach Group (Shankill Parish Church, St Peter’s & St Paul’s Church) at the Jethro Centre . Recently, the Ukrainian group was warmly welcomed to a heartfelt event hosted by the Community Outreach Group at the Jethro Centre. The aim of the gathering was to introduce the local community to Ukrainian culture, traditions, and history.

26[th] June 2025 The Annual General Meeting of the “Ukrainians in NI Ltd” charity organisation was held in Jethro centre, Lurgan.
