Activities

4) The Company’s objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of informal education, the promotion of community and youth participation in healthy recreation, the promotion of social inclusion and the promotion of the benefit and wellbeing of children and young people aged 5-25 years old (hereinafter called the ‘beneficiaries’) in the Kilkeel area and its surrounding environs in County Down, Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability/ability, race, political, religious or other opinion by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: A) To promote or assist in promoting youth community capacity building programmes and projects for the beneficiaries within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity or social and economic circumstances, in an effort to increase the abilities, leadership skills and self confidence of such inhabitants in the area of benefit; B) To encourage youth participation in healthy recreation through the provision of a safe environment for children and young people to learn and participate in sporting activities, healthy recreation and through such other physical, mental and social capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society; C) To provide programmes of recreational, cultural and educational activities for young people in the area of benefit D) To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people who are socially excluded on grounds of their youth, unemployment, financial hardship, poverty or social and economic position in order to relieve the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society E) To advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors may from time to time decide in accordance with the law of charity
