Overview
Donard PTA supports the operations of Donard School in Banbridge. Working with children, parents, carers and the wider school network, we strive to improve the school experience of the pupils by providing resources, therapies, facilities and activities inside and outside of the school environment. This involves communication and work between the parents, staff, pupils and wider community of Banbridge and surrounding areas.
Donard PTA is organised and run by parents and staff who volunteer their time and resources. The main focus of Donard PTA is to provide resources and experiences for the pupils of the school that they would otherwise not be able to access. We ensure high standards and rely on involvement from staff and pupils to ensure that the needs of the school are met and to provide the best opportunities possible for all pupils.
Due to school funding cuts and the covid pandemic resources, therapies and opportunities have been reduced and our aim is to improve and provide these for all pupils. We have great support and involvement from the local community.
Summary of achievements
In the current financial year Donard PTA have achieved the following;

Paid towards music therapy in school for all pupils.

Paid towards equine therapy in school for all pupils.

Created two events, Christmas Fayre and Summer Fete that were made accessible and involved the staff and pupils of Donard School and the wider community.

Made a contribution toward in school Halloween and Christmas events.
These were financed through the fundraising work of Donard PTA and donations from the local community and businesses.
Financial Position
At the end of the year (June 2025) Donard PTA holds in its bank account £6471.38. At this time there is no outstanding lodgements to be made or payments/bills to be paid.
All of these funds are unrestricted.
Public Benefit Requirement
The trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance under section 4b and continue to take it into account in decision making where the guidance is relevant.
