## Activities

**Purposes:** (a) Newry Chamber Music will provide professional chamber music concerts for the citizens of Newry and Mourne, South Armagh and Louth on a regular basis (usually 6-8 concerts per annum).  Concerts will be performed in a relaxed and all inclusive manner with the ultimate aim of increasing the local audiences’ interest in and enjoyment of classical music. For the most part, concerts will be performed by the resident group known as The Fews Ensemble but guest artists will also be invited from time to time.  (b) Give a platform to emerging young artists from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland at the beginning of their professional careers  (c) Provide occasional masterclasses to local young musicians given by our visiting artists   (d) Collaborate with other local arts groups and support local amateur music groups by providing occasional performance opportunities at our concerts   (e) Provide community coffee/lunchtime concerts throughout the region of Newry, Mourne and Down to widen access to high quality music in the area
