2. Structure, Governance and Management
The charity is governed by its constitution, adopted 2015. Trustees are appointed annually at the AGM. Volunteers play a vital role in delivering our activities throughout the year.
3. Objectives and Activities
Charitable Purpose: To promote the wellbeing, skills, and connectedness of residents in the Glebe village and surrounding area through events, activities, and support services.
Main Activities this year:
Annual Summer Fair (attendance: ~320 people)
Foyle cup involvement, attracting over 500+ visitors to the area.
Weekly Knitting workshop for our senior citizens, socializing and passing on skills within the group.
Daily Bingo nights
Youth day trips to lake kilrea and swimming pool.
Liaison with our local council to deliver a Halloween themed display in the park, we had 200+ visitors to the area over a 2 week period.
Missed out on the new play park for the area, no funding available from council.
4. Public Benefit Statement
The trustees confirm they have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. All activities are provided free or at minimal cost to ensure accessibility for all.
5. Achievements and Performance
Welcomed over 350+ attendees to our summer fair event.
Running of a successful Zumba session once a week.
Run raffles and draws throughout the year.
Coffee morning all in aid of Foyle Hospice.
6. Financial Review
Income: £3768.60 (grants, donations, fundraising)
Expenditure: £7000.62 (events, equipment, utilities)
7. Plans for the Future
Continue in our quest to work with the council on upgrading the play park and walk ways around the park area.
Develop a youth mentoring scheme with our local schools.
Improve accessibility in the community hall, working alongside our local council.
8. Risk Management
Main risks: funding shortfalls, volunteer shortages, safeguarding incidents. Mitigation: diversify funding, volunteer recruitment drives, annual safeguarding training.
