Activities

The organisation is based in the isolated rural townland of Ballyboley on the outskirts of both Larne and Ballyclare in Co Antrim. Ballyboley Pipe Band actively promote and develop the Ulster Scots culture. The organisation’s aim is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for those who wish to play, teach and learn Scottish Pipe Band music. Tuition is provided to a high standard and is carried out by highly experienced tutors. Tuition is available to all those who wish to learn to play the bagpipes, snare drum, tenor drum or bass drum. The organisation holds and arranges social activities which provides a sense of being part of a team as well as being part of the Pipe Band fraternity as a whole. It also aims to develop members’ self esteem and confidence. We provide musical entertainment within Ballyboley but also in the wider community. This usually takes place in churches, parades, concerts, public parks, etc. Ballyboley Pipe Band also take part in competitions which are held in Northern Ireland, in the Republic of Ireland as well as in Great Britain.
