## **Genesis Housing OTI Ltd** 

## **Trustees’ Report for the year ended 28 February 2025** 

Genesis Housing OTI Ltd is a small charity which will provide affordable social housing throughout Northern Ireland.  The charity will work with all relevant government agencies, community groups and charities for the betterment of all communities to develop social housing in their communities and reduce the levels of homelessness in Northern Ireland. 

## **Trustee’s Annual Report** 

The trustee’s present the annual report and accounts for Genesis Housing OTI Ltd for the year ended 28 February 2025. 

## **Trustee’s Objectives and activities** 

Genesis Housing OTI Ltd is run by the trustees who are responsible for the overall decisions made for the charity. We generally have a Trustee meeting once a month, ad-hoc meetings are also held throughout the year as required to discuss the charity developments.  If required, a meeting can be arranged at short notice should urgent matters need to be discussed. 

The main aim of the charity is to provide short to long term social and affordable housing and accommodation for homeless persons, those requiring emergency shelter, retirement housing for over 65's and disabled housing for families who are within the support system. Genesis will also provide short term accommodation for vulnerable youth within the supporting government departments. 

## **Directors & Trustees** 

The persons who served the charity as both Directors and Trustees during the year were as follows; 

Geoffrey Bentley Terrance McCann Vincent Rafferty – resigned 9 September 2025 Graham Long – resigned 1 September 2025 Ronan Woods – resigned 3 September 2025 

## **Financial Review** 

The charity had no monetary transactions during the year but we have had many positive meetings around future plans and projects.

## **Governing Document and Constitution of the Charity** 

The charity is governed by its’ constitution. 

## **Pay and Remuneration** 

No trustee received any pay or remuneration during the year ended 28 February 2025. 

## **Directors & Trustees Responsibilities** 

The directors (and Trustees) are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations. 

Company law requires the directors to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the directors have elected to prepare financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The financial statements are required by law to give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company at the end of the year and of the surplus or deficit of the company for that period. 

In preparing those financial statements, the directors are required to

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; 

- observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; 

- make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; 

- state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; 

- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in operation. 

The directors are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006 and Charities Act (NI) 2008. The directors are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. 

## **Small Company Provisions** 

This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions for small companies under Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006. 

## **Statement of Compliance** 

In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guide on Public Benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the Charity’s purpose and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
