Parents and Friends of Porladown College is governed in accordance with its
Constitution which was last approved al the AGM.
Trustees/ Officer Bearers are selected by persons in attendance at Annual General Meetings in
accordance with rules as set out in the Constitution
Purpose
Purpose I
Advancing the education ol pupils in the school. The benefit which flows from this purpose
includes increased educational progress and altainmenl ol pupils in the school and links built
with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access lo resources, events,
activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding.
Thi5 purpose does not lead lo harm. The benefit is for the children ai Portadown College.
Charity tru5tee5 (Parents and Friends ol Portadown College committee members) are usually also
parents of current or past children at the school which their children attend and hence gain
benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries.
This benefit is incidental anc5 necessary to ensure the benefit Is provided to all beneficiaries.

Improved relationships between home and school, The benefit which flow5 from this purpose
includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local communitv.
This is demonstrated through having an active Parents and Friends Group that works in partnership
with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not leacl to harm. The benefit
is for children at Portadown College.
Charity trustees IParents and Friends of Portadown College committee members) are usually also
parents of current or past children at the school which their children attend and hence gain
benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries.

Parents and Friends of Portadown College has chosen to present annual accounts in Receipts and
Payment Format as permitteLI by Charities Commission regulations.
A draft set of accounts were presented to the committee before being presented to the
members at the AGM for formal approval.
The Account5 demonstrate the funds of Parents and Friend5 of Porladown College to be sufficieniSv
in surplu5 to allow for the activities ol Parent5 and Friends of Portadown College to continue
without disruption.
At the end ol the financial year the total assets less liabilities ol Parents and Friends of Porladown
College stood at £423 1.

I report on the account5 of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on
pages 7 to 8.
RESPECTIVE RESPONS181LITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER
The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider
that an audit is not required for this year under section 65111 ol the Charities Act (Northern
Irelandl 2008 and that an independent examination is needed.

examine the accounts under Section 65 of the Charities Act,,
follow the procedures lald down in the general Direction5 given by the Charilv
Commission lor Northern Ireland under section 651911bl of the Charities Act,.
to state whether particular mallers have come to my attention.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
My examination wa5 carried OLJI in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charilv
Commission. An examination includes a review ol the accounting records kept by the charity and
a comparison of the accoun15 presented with those records. It a150 includes consideration ol any
unusual item5 or di5cIosures in the account5. and seeking explanation5 from you as trustees
concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts
present a 'true and fair vlew, and the report is limited lo those rnatters sel out in the slalemenl

My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me
cause to believe..
That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the
Charities Act INorthern Irelandl 2008,.
That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records;
That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of
section 68 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and with the
methods and principles of the Charities Statement of Recommended
Practice applicable to charities preparin8 their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland,.
That there is further information needed for a proper under5tandin8 of the
accounts to be reached.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT
I can confirm that l am qualified to undertake the examination because l am a
registered member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, which is
