Respectlve responsibilities of the Charity Trustee and Examiner
As the Charity's Trustees, you are responsible for fhe preparation of the accounts in accordance with
the Charities Act {Northern Ireland) 2008 (the Charities Act).
As the Examiner, it is my responsibility to
Examine the Accounts in accordance with Section 65 of the Charities Act.
Follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under Section
65(9)(b) of the Charities Act.
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of the Independent Examiner's Report
I have examined your Charity Accounts as required under Section 65 of the Charities Act. My
examination was carried out in accordance with Ihe general directions given by the Charity Commission for
Norlhern I reland under Section 6519llb) of the Charities Act.
My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the
accounls presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounls, and seeking explanations from you as Charity Trustees concerning any such matlers.
My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe
That accounting records were not kept in accordance with Section 63 of the Charities Act.
That Accounts do not accord with those accounting records.
ThatAccounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of fhe Charities Act.
That there is future information needed for a proper understanding of the aGCQUllts to be reached.
Independent Examlner's Statement
I have completed my examination of the Society's accounts and associated documents, and I have no
cancems in respect of the matters listed at 6 a to d above. I have found no matters in connection with the
Directions of the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland that require drawing to your attention.

Notes to the Accounts- Period ended 30 June 2024
The organisation was formed on 6 January 2023, when a formal Constitution was adopted, and 6
individuals agreed to act as Trustees. The name of the Charity was shown as Williams Syndrome Buddies, with
a recorded address of 48 Loguestown Green, Coleraine, Co Londonderry, Northern Ireland, BT52 2RG.
An application was submitted to the Charity Comrnission for Northern Ireland for formal registration as
a Charity, and this was approved on 1S April 2023 under reference NIC109365.
The Charity started the process of opening a Bank Account on 13 August 2023.
In September 2023, the Charity held it's first Annual General Meeting. The meeting agreed to the

The appointmant of Ronald Albert Snape as the Independent Examiner for the Charity.
The amendment ofthe Charity's Registered Name from Williams Syndrome Buddies to Williams
Syndrome Buddies (Northern Ireland) The reason for the change of Registered Name was to enable
the Charity to identify itself as a separate body from the associated Charities that operate in Great Britain
(Williams Syndrome Foundation) and the Republic of Ireland (Williams Syndrome Ireland),
The adoption of an updated Constitution. The reason for the update to the Constitution was to
set out more fully how the Charity will operate, and to enable il to be registered with HMRC.
On 22 September 2023, beGause of significant d81ays in the processing of the Charity's application for
a BankAccount by Danske Bank, a separate application was submitted to Ulster Bank to open a BankAccount,
At the end of November 2023. the Charity purchased a tolal of 40 One4all Gift Cards as a Christmas
Treat for all Members. These were posted to Members in early December 2023.
The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland acknowledged the change of name on 6 December 2023.
After considerable difficulties, a Bank Account with Ulster Bank was finally opened on 14 December
2023. As a result of the difficulties experienced during the account opening process, a complaint was submitted
to Ulster Bank. The complaint was upheld by Ulster Bank, and the Charity re￿iVed a total of£465.95 in respect
of Compensation and reimbursement of additional expenses incurred.
On 21 December 2023, an application was submitted to register the Charity with HMRC, This was
approved on 18 January 2024, with an effective date of 6 January 2023.

A New Year Party was funded by Williams Syndrome Foundation UK, held at Rathfern Community
Centre, Newtonabbey on 7 January 2024, which was attended by approximately 20 Members and Iheir families,
Sweet treats and gifts for the Members attending the event were provided as a donation by Jennys Jems from
Coleraine,

In April 2023, the Trustees of the Charity agreed to amend the dates for the first accounting period so
that il ran from 6 January 2023 to 30 June 2024, with future accounling periods to end on 30 June each year.

The Society is a small organisation, and uses the 'Receipts and Payments, basis for the accounts. The
balance brought fonward at the start of Ihe period was Cash that had been generated from activities prior to Ihe
date of the formation of the Charity. The sccounts and records of the Society have been subject to a Running
Audit throughout the period.
